Mitch turned the 29th pick of a very weak draft, the 42nd pick of a very weak draft, turned that into 4.5 million dollars and two second round picks in 2011. He's a genius.

Mitch was one of the worst GMs in the league and now he's one of the best.

What a turnaround, he's really improved.

His only weakness is recognizing contract year players!

Maybe he was never one of the worst.

Maybe we didn't give him time.

yep. laker fans, by nature, are impatient with their team, i certainly am, and i thought when this team actually had smush on it, that mitch was the most horrible of all gm's, how i was wrong.

He was one of the worst, but he's more than made up for his early mistakes. If you look around the league a lot of GMs make rookie mistakes in their first few seasons on the job. They want to jump right in and put their footprint on a team and experienced GMs take advantage of their overzealous behavior.

Yeah I don't exactly feel bad about trashing that 04-07 roster.

Yeah, same here. Now that we won a title, even smush looks good. lol

Especially Kwame, he was our biggest piece to helping Kobe win. Biggest trade piece that is.

I hope Brown Ariza and Odom's combined new salary will only be as big as Odom's last salary which was about 13Mil.

    Brown for about $2 million

    Ariza for about $6 million

    Odom for about $8 million

    I'll take $16 million.

Sounds like we'll need closer to 20 million, +20 more after the Tax.

16 would be good too. I dunno about Odom's family, but 8M is still a huge amount of money to get for playing a game. lol

MLE is about 5 mil right?

Yeah, I meant not including the luxury tax.

Maybe Lamar made some bad investments, and in this lame economy he could use a little extra though?

We're probably not touching the MLE. :]

    Nothing.

The MLE is given to every team in the league, with or without normal cap space, by the league to spend on a FA. It is usually about $5.5 million, I believe.
