Yeah, this doesn't mean a lot. Extending a qualiying offer is a no-brainer...if he takes it, they get him for another year for very little. It's little more than procedural.

Now, if he accepts it, in order to be UFA next season, then Portland is out of luck, if they wanted him.

Maybe it's Luke we sign and trade for? He and Redd?

I wouldn't think so. Ridnour used to be about Blake's level, maybe slightly better...but he's declined significantly since then.

Michael Redd is a good player, though no longer All-Star level. But he's been fragile the past few seasons, paid a ton and Portland has Roy and Rudy at his position. He doesn't make any sense for Portland.

We don't need another SG...we have Roy and Rudy, what would we do with Redd? And NO, I would not trade Rudy for Redd.

KP wants to bring in seasoned vets.

I think he goes the Andre Miller/Jason Kidd/Mike Bibby rout.

Speaking of vet PG's, I know his defense sucks but his ability to shoot and create is very intriguing:

I wouldn't mind him here. For the right price. But we need better defense. Not a slightly better passer than Blake.

I would call him more than slightly better passer than Blake. I wouldn't mind Calderon, but I think there are a couple better options.

Rumors were that a top ten team in the lottery from the eastern conference was interested in Travis. Maybe it was Toronto and we can move him to Toronto with Blake for Calderon? Then still use our cap space to sign a SF?

Toronto took DeRozan - so there is less of a need there for Travis unless they are ready and willing to make a last ditch effort to resign Bosh. If they have any brain - they should try to trade Bosh for an ugly contract and Beasley before it's too late...

According to Jennings, MIL is not re-signing Sessions.

Calderon is also less likely to lose us games on free throws :)

too bad Calderon's draw foul rate is nearly as abysmal as Blake's
