1) Hedo Turkoglu - Starting SF; legit 2nd or 3rd option. 2) Andre Miller - Starting PG; stop gap for Bayless. 3) Tyrus Thomas - Backup PF.
I think all we really need is Jason Kidd and a backup PF. But we may have that in Cunningham of Pendergraph. So, Jason Kidd is all we really need IMO. I am starting to think we do not need Hedo at all.
Two notes: Ramon Sessions should be included in the UFA/RFA list, and I think he's a realistic and worthwhile target. Luol Deng was "good" year before last. He got hurt and regressed, but still had a 17 PER. We'd hope for more if he was acquired, but he's really only had one "bad" season. Last season at essentially 15 PER.
Great write-up...thank you. I am curious to see who Portland has in it's sights. I keep hearing about Hedo, but I am not sure we want to spend the money. I could see us get Kidd or Miller and go with Batum/Webster at SF and then get a backup PF like Wilcox or similar.
Wilcox would be a very nice back up. Good rebounder and can score in the post something I would love to see our 2nd unit be able to do.
Nice list! I think you guys are in need of a vet, though it is not necessary. I think Portland's gonna land Hedo, though it's gonna cause some rotation problems giving less time to Outlaw or even Rudy.
Outlaw will most likely be gone by next year. We'll find minutes for Rudy regardless. Where have you been Anique?
I would like to see us either get Sessions or Miller...Both can penetrate and aren't afraid to attack the basket. I would like Nick Collison, MyDyess, or Joe Smith as the sub for LA...Who knows, maybe Pendergraph's ready...I don't want Hedo because I think Martell will be ready for the season, I have hope! We're set at small forward if he heals...Also, it depends on whether the Blazers are going to try to compete for a title this year or not...Many teams have gotten better overall...I would put us right now before additions probably four in the West behind the Lakers, Spurs, and Nuggets. Rockets and us are very close but we will add a veteran at pg and pf. I hope we don't add another 3. Bottomline is that this team has succeeded sooner then planned which is causing Blazer fans to swing for the fences...If we wait with what we have other than adding some toughness...We will be the top team in the league by 2011. If that's not soon enough for you, you are being babied and have unrealistic goals for good character guys who make up the youngest team in the NBA! There I'm done!
