So it sounds like Koponen is in a place that doesn't work well with NBA teams and Freeland is going to try to earn some money in Europe before heading over here and having to work through in #30 contract. It almost sounds like he's daring us to renounce his rights so he can come over here as a UFA.
No biggie. Let them both stay over there. Sounds like Freeland doesn't want to come to the NBA for another 3 years or so anyways. Kopenen sounds like he is sucking.
by just looking at the stats, brandon jennings didn't do much better than koponen.. anyway, not many 20-year old point guards have big role in their first serie A season. he got reasonable minutes, and according to reports wasn't that bad. boykins dominated the ball so koponen played off the ball more than he may have liked. next season will be interesting. maybe they are planning a big role for him, if they are not willing to let him join the pdx summer league team. edit: according to reports from italy, the team is in quite a turmoil, they've fired/let go the gm and the coach and the owner is trying to sell the club.
