I was wondering... when someone on here has a relative or friend pass away can I make fun of you and them? If anyone who here says no and they are cracking jokes you are a hypocrite.
We took the jokes out of the other thread. If you want to bitch, go there and bitch. If you don't like what you see here no one is forcing you to read it.
Like it or not, jokes like these get told when certain people die. You'd think it's just because of Jackson's reputation, but think again. When the first Space Shuttle blew up, there were jokes the next day: "What does NASA stand for? -- Need Another Seven Astronauts" "How do you know Krista McAuliffe had dandruff? -- They found her head and shoulders on the beach." And those astronauts had no such reputation. I guess it's some form of grieving or something.
I'm even less of a fan of pederasts who give their victims hush money. People are acting like the President died; Jacko was a disturbed man who probably should have been behind bars.
Well, I'm not making fun of Jacko, but I certainly don't see a problem with people being somewhat uncaring that a pederast who gave his victims hush money to drop their cases has passed.
True. But, it is kind of like, saying you despise Hitler, so let's tell a bunch of Haulocaust jokes when he died?
Dead celebrity jokes rule. Did you hear that they gave Christa McAuliffe an award? She was a teacher for seven years, but she only blew up in front of her class once...
Good point, but I read all the jokes as being an insult to Jackson. Not saying I support making these jokes, but it doesn't insult me either. What does insult me is the media fawning over him without really telling the whole story. That said, Off the Wall and Thriller are both incredible pop albums, so I do acknowledge that the man had a talent that few other possess.
I'm not bitching or offended at all by any of these jokes. I'm just wondering if we are allowed to make fun of each other when we have people die? I know nothing about Michael, and none of us do. He sold many records, and had a few allegatiosn against him that was proven guilty. Whether you believe he was or not I really don't care, but I'm just wondering if we can make fun of peoples friends and family when they die? And yes Iwill actually do it if you say yes.
No, that would be against the rules here. You can say whatever you like about a public figure, and Jackson certainly qualifies as a public figure. That liberty does not extend to comments about other posters. barfo
No, the world revolves around S2. KingSpeed is defined by his posting here, not his movies or TV shows. barfo
PMs or emails could be the basis for disciplinary action, but for whatever reason that rarely seems to be necessary. ABM may be able to provide some tips on how to get banned for sending PMs, though. barfo
