I applaud everything Trevor has done this year, and I'm a big fan. But at the end of the day, he's still a contract year player until he proves otherwise. Again, MLE level money is acceptable, if you go over, then you're pushing it. I'm not saying don't match the offer if it goes above the MLE, I'm saying be smart and reasonable. I know we have a bunch of contracts coming off the books soon, but all that is negated if we once AGAIN overpay and don't spend wisely. We should follow the Spurs model, they never overpay their role players. At this point, Trevor is just a role player. Take him out of LA, away from Kobe/Pau, how good will he be? I like him, but he can barely dribble the ball. If it comes down to it, if teams are offering him 7-8 million dollar 5 year deals. Kidd + Barnes is a much wiser decision.
I don't think Ariza will be looking for a deal past 4 years. He is still very young with room to improve. I'm sure he is confident he can improve and increase his value.
Yeah Ariza's foot and dribbling bother me, I just don't think Money is a huge deal. Sasha's ill contract ends soon. What do you do with LO's contract?
LO probably will cost 8 million, I'm guessing, which is a very reasonable price. Out of all the teams out there, I don't see anyone offering him more than that. I'm actually not too worried about LO's market price, long as Jerry's willing to pay, he'll be back.
I think he really hurt his value with the inconsistent play. It was an all time high when he got traded here and it just gradually declined. Fuck...who am I kidding...I'm trying to lowball him to convince myself. I don't see him getting any less than $8 and any more than $10 million a year.
Lo is pretty consistent compared to Ariza, I guess I could see the case for signing him over Trev, then picking up a Barnes type. I think Trev has slightly more injury concerns, and Bynum needs backup help like Lamar. Starter quality because Andrew has taken his time to get back into a flow after injuries.
However, if we waste the MLE on a small forward, we won't be getting our point guard. If we man up and sign everyone we can actually offer some PG out there our MLE. Then we can just let Ammo/Farm/Fish expire if we're in such desperate need of cap relief.
Man some of you talkin' mad shit lol. David's just earning his paycheck you knwo... Come to think of it if you all treat me like a used car part maybe I could play elsewhere...buy the entire city of Detroit and shit with my new contrac tlol
Take the rings Trevor, you'll get another contract after this one and much more exposure as a winner.

I hate it when agents give out those kind of statements. lol I'm now worried about the Ariza situation because as what you guys have been saying here, he performed at this great level on a contract year and we have all seen what happens when we give out a contract based on a player's performance on a contract year, they eventually fizzle out. Now, I'm sure that Ariza might be an exception, but still, he was just an average kind of player before that contract season. I'm one of the few here who probably likes to keep LO more. Even though he is older and more inconsistent, he is the more unique player with the better overall skill set. A 6'8 player who can shoot 3's slash and defend are kinda common in the league. As what has been said, Matt Barnes fits that mold.
ill give trevor 7M max. i think he can be successful with other teams but he wont be a 9-10M a year guy... i just dont see him putting up those numbers.
