I think this will have an impact on Portland.

He was at odds with Rip Hamilton, so they were looking at Gordon. He was also the one that was supposedly trying to land Hedo.

If the Pistons are not going after either, that means Chicago will likely retain Gordon making Hinrich available to us, and the same for Hedo

Possibly, but the Hedo thing never made sense to me. Hedo and Prince basically do the same thing. Prince is a better defender but worse "offenser" :ghoti: (Nice made up word aye?). Ben Gordon never made sense either. That franchise is spiraling into the shitter. Curry was in no way ready to coach in the NBA, and throwing AI on him was just a fiasco.

Basically at this point, I think Dumars has come full cycle. He built it up. He destroyed it back to where it was when he started. Good luck with that Joe.

Curry was likely the worst coach in the NBA. You could just tell he was in over his head and didn't know what the hell he was doing.

I agree, and would rather have Hinrich if Miller really thinks he is a $10 mil per player. Makes Hinrich look like a steal.

I think you give Curry too much credit at this point - Dumars was the one that made all the roster decisions before and the one doing it now.

Can't really blame Curry for the Rip issues as well - Dumars traded away Billups because Stucky is their PG of the future - so he had to start, and he brought a big name player in AI - so it made sense to start him - leaving him no option other than sending Rip to the bench.

I have no idea how much they are really targeting Gordon - They do have Rip and they need bigs - so if they go after him it will only be as a secondary option, and probably in the same role he had in Chicago - as a super-sub gunner off the bench.

Yeah Gordon needs to start. He and Rip are about as good as AI and Rip. Makes no sense. Unless they move Prince and play Rip at 3.

I remember how happy the players in Detroit were to get rid of Flip Saunders. Then they quit on the guy who gives them a long leash. When Billups left, all of the leadership on that team left with him. Saunders, Billups, Larry Brown, and to a lesser degree, Ben Wallace. Those were the keys to the sustained success that Detroit experienced.

    First nocioni, now Hinrich...

Why are Chicago's "white" players the most ridiculously overrated in the league?

No way KP evens considers them worth looking at for our team.

Uh, I hate to break it to you, but KP's been "considering" Hinrich for a year and a half. If by "considering" you mean "actively talking to CHI about it, and having at least one deal agreed to in principle".

Even if you are able to source this it doesn't mean much. There are two strategies that are smart.

    A) don't say nothin about anything.

    B) Constantly talk about so many players that no one has any idea who your real target is (smoke screens).

KP is solidly in Camp B.

No, not even for a second.

He's a much better evaluator of talent, and sets his sights much higher than an "okay" PG who in no way fits this team or it's current coach.

Kp looks to improve, not tread water.

Finally, MARIS agrees that Sergio was not a good talent...

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Rodriguez is a great point guard.
Pritchard is a great evaluator of talent.
Pritchard essentially gave Rodriguez away for nothing more than cap space and moving up a few spots in the second round of the draft.

How do you reconcile these things without your head exploding?

    Well, Jaynes for one.
I also was thinking that this thread (http://sportstwo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=135493) showed that Hinrich had been pulled aside to say he was gone, and the deal fell through. Looking back, I can see where he was just "being apprised of" talks.

I withdraw the "on the table" comment. I don't withdraw that KP has been asking about him for years now.
