Detroit still has enough to make a very good offer to Ariza or Odom, if they want them. However, I expect them to sign Charlie V.
Villanueva has signed http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=4301111 OK now there's definitely less money available for Odom & Ariza!
Holy shit, that's alot of cash for Ben Gordon. Good job Detroit! Less money and less talent for the Cavs to get!
Only teams with cap space that I'm worried about is Portland/Toronto, and it will only become one because either will end up wasting their money on Hedo. Looks like all the offers LO and Trev will be getting are MLEs, most likely. Ariza's agent can go cry somewhere.
Going from the Lakers to the Raptors is a terrible mistake. I could understand Ariza wanting to play for a title contender like Cleveland or Portland, but if he's all about the money and willing to go to a sinking ship in Canada good riddance.
Yeah, I know, Ariza sucks if he's gonna do that. Toronto didn't even get in the playoffs. Maybe his reason is gonna be, "I need to feed my family" lol
So just wondering, but what does this do for Rip Hamilton's future in Detroit? I can't imagine either him or Ben Gordon would like the thought of coming off the bench again. They could go super tiny and move Prince to the bench, but I doubt he would like that either. Anyone think there's a shot they move either Prince or Rip?
It's gonna be hard to move Rip's contract, so if there's gonna be a trade, it's gonna be Prince who's leaving. Oh yeah, Gordon already agreed to be a 6th man, so whenver Rip or Stuckey goes to the bench, he probably goes in.
That's kinda shocking that Gordon would agree to be a 6th man again, considering he could have been a starter if he stayed in Chicago and started a good chunk of last year.
Yeah, I know, but it was what was said in an article in nba.com I think. Says Gordon agreed to becoming 6th man. Probably playing starter minutes, but will just confuse the rotation lacking in size.
He already won a title, now he might want to make as much money as possible. His value may never be higher.
Gordon said he agreed to be part of a three guard lineup with Stuckey and Hamilton. Nothing about who is starting as of yet. I think Gordon and Hamilton probably end up starting, with Stuckey off the bench. We'll see what Avery Johnson wants to do with them come training camp time though. And he couldn't have started in Chicago, because Chicago never offered him a contract.
