"Toronto interested in [insert next biggest free agent]" I'm as skeptical of this actually leading to a signing, as I was of the Villanueva rumour. I like Lee a lot and he'd be awesome on this roster, but we don't have a starting role for him. Unless he wanted to stay on the East coast or was impressed with our organization/roster (what are the chances of that?), he'd be much more enticed by some of the crappier teams that can offer more money and minutes.
this is stupid if true. observation: since the raps dipped in the last year or two, havent there been more wild outrageous rumours than ever?
I think some of that's because of Bryan Colangelo. He's just an impulsive GM. On the other hand, I feel like a lot of rumours get created by a lazy non-Toronto media that doesn't even bother to learn about our situation. Colangelo brought in several Europeans and since then, any and all European player gets linked to us. Similarly, right now we have a bunch of potential cap space, so writers link us to every significant FA on the market, ignoring the fact that it'd be idiotic to spend it all on one player.
If we do end up doing a S&T with the Knicks for Lee, any chance we can get Nate along with him for the right price?
Maybe BC is looking to move Bosh before he walks? Trade him for Lee who would then become the Raptor's starting PF?
