That sounds like leadership right there. ^^ Even though the press (ESPN) doesn't seem to bring that out. It's almost like they are trying to find faults in Dirk.
Yeah, man. I can't remember which game that was in, but I know the commentators were talking about encouraging players as a positive leadership quality.Besides that, the Mavericks probably love eachother. I almost never see a bench that goes as wild as the Mavericks bench goes, and the closest I saw was the Spurs bench.
That's what the media and other people do with guys they don't like.Like on my other site, I know of guys who hate on Dirk just because they don't like the idea of 7 footers shooting outside shots, they want them down on the post only.Dirk is becoming a very good leader, it's taking him time, but he's developing into his role as team leader.

In fact, one time (I forgot against who), Nowitzki got into a bit of a serious mode, and the other guy pushed Dirk. DeSagana Diop came running to Dirk and made himself a shield. As for as for other things, one time Avery was yelling at Diop for some bad defensive plays, and right after that, Dirk came up to him, gave him a few words of encouragement, and patted him on the head.</div>what he say??? i suck on defense too so don't worry about it???<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Rok @ Apr 8 2006, 10:43 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>To say something to the effect of Parker playing like a <Censored> in a thread about the Mavs/Spurs which resulted in a loss for Spurs came off to me as an excuse. Oh well.</div>well if you have aol, you can look up my other post on the spurs board when we played the pistons, and during the game we won i was talkin a lot of <Censored> about parker, in fact it makes the stuff i'm saying about dirk look like dirk is my all time favorite player the way i talked about parker, and the way i still do......ever since eva came into the picture he's starting to act like he's a star, when he didn't play that one game this season we had a season high in team assist.....parker is turning into a let me impress eva kind of player, never wants to pass to manu anymore unless he's stuck in a crowd

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>what he say??? i suck on defense too so don't worry about it???</div>First off, he probably was playing the good guy to Avery's bad guy, And second, does it matter? I remember that game too, and after that Diop had a few good blocks and several great rebounds in traffic. It doesn't matter what Dirk says or does, as long as the team responds well, and in most documented cases, they have.Even the time when Dirk went off then went out and had a bad game, the team responded well, he didn't, and I believe it's been established that he was sick that game, so I'd call that a wash.
Yeah, but this year is really the first year of him being the only true leader on the team. Terry is great, Howard is great, they're all great role players, but Dirk is also carrying the team on his shoulders.
Yeah, man. Two years ago, it was Nash. Last year, it was Finley and Dirk. This year, it's all Dirk.I mean, he lost his longtime coach and friend in Nellie, and best friend in Steve Nash.Dirk must've had some mindset problems, as well, because on the day Nellie suddenly retired, Dirk was flat the whole night.
