I remember the Blazers had a proposed deal for Barkley for Kersey, Duck and Cliff or something like that.. that would've been exciting if we had him during his MVP years.
I think it was Kersey, Duck and Porter. Looking back Portland really should have done that. But Portland thought they could make another championship run with their core. At the time, I thought it was way too much to give up.
Yeah, that sounds right. I would've hated to give up TP, and three starters. But we could've had Ainge and Clyde in the backcourt, and Barkley and Cliff in the frontcourt and some scrub. That would've changed our entire team history.
I think Perry and Lang were starters or at least top reserves for the Suns, and at one point, were legit NBA front-line players with potential. But looking back, they pretty much sucked.
Who knows.. it would've been exciting to find out though looking back at it, although Clyde and Barkley never got along later in Houston.
