Says he won't resign with Boston for the vet minimum.

Personally, I don't want him. However he does play a position we want to upgrade.

Wonder where he might end up?

But he himself is not an upgrade.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I liked Marbury more than most when he was in his prime. A definite star point guard. He's so long past that, now. I had hoped he'd resurrect his career in Boston, but every time I saw him play, he was pretty terrible. His shot now seems broken and he no longer has that lightning quick ability to get into the paint and find teammates.

    He's finished.

Don't ruin what you have. Say no to Marbury.

I don't think there are (m)any teams that would want Marbury at this point. I certainly can't see Portland wanting him.

Its interesting to see how far a once popular player falls. I mean look at Iverson. A hall of famer, scoring champion and all out warrior on the court, has no offers and at this point is going around the league and lobbying to play for teams like Memphis. Its sad really. I wish he would just retire then go out like this.

Iverson very well might retire. I saw a quote from the last couple of days where he said he'd rather retire than not start.

How many teams would want Allen Iverson starting? Only really bad teams, and how many really bad teams want Iverson as part of any rebuilding effort?

If he were smart, I think he'd pick a contending team and go to that team to play whatever role they would need him at, working for peanuts. Sign a year deal with another year option for himself... show he's matured and capable of helping a team even when he's not the center of it.

The odds, though? He hasn't matured that way, and he would probably be insulted that I would consider that transformation to be part of a maturity process...

No way do I want Starbury on Portland. I might think Blake is one of the worst starters in the NBA, but he is light years better then that douche.

Have we really gone so far as to grab at that straw. I would rather Portland do nothing and let the cap space go to waste then use it on that moron.

I don't know if Marbury is so much "up for grabs" as he is "out back in the dumpster waiting to be picked up."

We could fire Nate and hire Damon Stoudamire as our Head Coach and Starting PG.

A commercial just played in my mind reading that

    Opening shot:

(The camera pans over a dirty alley way coming to a rest at a dumpster.)

Stephon Marbury: (calling from a dumpster) "I've fallen into garbage that resembles my game AND I CAN'T UP!"

Marbury pushes a giant white button from a chain around his neck

Washed-up prima donna player alert: it saves you when your game can't!

(Up comes a giant figure who reaches out to Starbury)

Stephon: "I can't see to good, is that really you Kevin McHale?"

The giant figure: "Yes it is me McHale here to rescue you!"

Stephon: "Back to Minnesota? But I thought they fired you?"

McHale:"It's true they did, I'm just a talent scout for Chris Wallace here to save you!"

(Commercials fades out Stephon can be heard to say "Memphis, damn straight I hear they got Z-bo AND AI down there hellz yeah boyee Starbury time baby!")

Washed-up prima donna player alert: it saves you when your game can't!
