http://www.nypost.com/seven/07042009/sports/knicks/david_may_lee_ve_the_big_apple_177540.htm Once again, NY Post, so who knows, they could just be pulling this out of their asses. I was up for Nate before, but with Artest coming here I'm not too sure. Too many egos.
Yeah if we bring in someone at the point I'd rather it be an ideal fit for us who can also defend. I'm fine with Shannon but I do want some more depth. We should also work out a little trade, who knows what we can get at the deadline.
i wouldnt mind having nate here, he kind of reminds me of ron ron, except without the bad rep. i also dont think he has any ego problems, i havent ever heard anything bad about him in terms of locker room stuff. i would love to have nate on this team, plus phil is really keen on him.
I noticed he has an expiring deal for about 2.9 million right? Doesn't sound like much of a risk, ok whatever. If this is even on the table I mean.
He's done plenty of bad things in the locker room. He once jumped Malik Rose in the shower because he owned him 5 bucks. He got in a little altercation with Zach Randolph on the bench. He definitely has little man syndrome, he makes Jordan Farmar seem humble, but he can get away with it because he can produce. I still wouldn't mind him if it was cheap, like a Nate-Jordan swap. But that's all we should really offer.
Here's an article I Googled that describes his attitude http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/b...little_man_nate_robinsons_big_temper_can.html Not sure if this is the type of guy we'd want with Artest on the team as well.
You guys are weird. Nate is more explosive than anyone we have on the bench.. If he can be had for cheap, I want him.
yeah, i know he would fit so well off the bench, but considering those attitude stories it makes me think twice about whether we can have someone like that on the team, someone who thinks he is the shit. farmar is a bit like that, and smush was really really bad, he was a huge reason why the lakers didnt go further into the playoffs, his attitude. the lakers group we have now is really tight, and i think we should keep it together, if we add a pg it should be a humble veteran point, like say keeyon dooling.
Nate could be good, but I don't think he has the "win title now" mode that Artest is in, so it would be harder to rein him in.
Nate is an upgrade in the backcourt, but I'd rather the team retain Shannon Brown. The problem with Nate is he's looking for a contract extension after this season and I don't think the Lakers will come close to paying him what he wants. He'd basically be a 1 year rental and prevent the team from offering Shannon a contract (unless he wants to play for cheap.) I'd rather have Shannon develop another season in LA and eventually take over Fisher's spot.
I think like Artest, Nate is a back up plan. Indiana is rumored to be looking at Brown for about $3 million/year. At least according to LG, that is.
Wow... Artest was never a guy i thought would eventually be considered a champion, Nate? he's 1/3 artest's size... so how would that add up for the lakers? no to nate pls.
Wow $3M a year for Shannon Brown? I thought their backcourt was set with TJ Ford, Jarrett Jack and Brandon Rush.
I don't know if that is true, though. I know there was a link on realgm about Indy being interested in SHANWOW and then I read over at LG that $3 million was the number. I didn't care enough to dive deeper.
Most players are better on Lakers than they are on other teams, which makes other teams overpay us. I'm SURE Ariza won't be as flashy and neither would be Brown. I like Brown, but Nate is an upgrade over him. I still hope we can acquire Shannon because talks over nate could be just rumors.
We just got Shannon!!! I think Nate is an upgrade talent-wise, but looks like the signing ain't happening.
