That "report" is so full of errors it's ridiculous. Apparently Steve Blake, Martell Webster and Ike Diogu are all Blazer free agents...
Frye and Ike are no longer Blazers. Blake is NOT a free agent. Other than that, the author has a great grasp of the facts. Edit: I see others already beat me to it!
"Blazer free agents are: Steve Blake, Channing Frye, Travis Outlaw, Martell Webster, Ike Diogu. Out of that group only Steve Blake is an un-restricted free agent." No, he isn't. And, out of that group, only 60% of them actually play for the Blazers. Isn't Bleacher Report just some site where fans write the articles? If so, that explains the lack of editing and fact checking. I heard on the radio that, now that the Celts have Sheed, Big Baby is considering signing with the Spurs for the minimum. I'm not in love with his game, and he's not my first choice as a back-up 4, but if we could land him for a deal starting at about $1.5 million, that's a great value. Heck, we could just renounce Koponen and Freeland and more than cover that - and still have our $8 million in cap space left for other acquisitions. BNM
Never mind. What I heard on the radio was near minimum salary, what I just read online says near average salary (aka: MLE). No thanks. I don't consider that reasonable for a fat kid who can't rebound. I would have much rather had Dejuan Blair for a lot less money with a 2nd round pick - who the Spurs already have. What are they trying to do, corner the market on portly power forwards, build a top notch offensive line? And if the Spurs do offer Davis something close to the MLE, I doubt if Boston will match that. They are spending their MLE on Sheed and $5 million per is too much to spend on a 3rd stringer. BNM
