Not really much of an argument at all. More like a rambling, bitter, whining rant.

Who are the "four potential" all stars the writer speaks of?

I get Howard and Lewis, maybe Nelson..am I missing who the 4th is?

Oh, he's talking about Carter? I guess.

Carter and Turkoglu weren't ever going to play together. Vince was Hedo's replacement as they knew the Turkey Ship had sailed.

Having been engulfed in Hedogate for the last 5 days, my opinion is Hedo this is not about the money . . . or the rings.

Turk comes from another country. The transition of being a star in your home country to moving to a different country with a totally different culture and environment, is tough. I think most really miss home and why so many go home in the summer and seem to be peace the most in their home country.

So Hedo is not about the money (the money was close to the same), he is not about the rings (Orlando or Ptd would have been the move) . . . Hedo has worked his ass off in a foreign country for the last whatever years and is coming to the end of his career . . . time for him to relax a little, be comfortable in his surroundings and enjoy basketball for the next 3-5 years . . . Hedo is about life . . . and he made a basketball choice that will make his overall life better.

    Listen Tidwell,

The money difference was small . . . time you accept that Ptd might not be the most attractive spot for a european player . . . yea I know, we got the NE and all, but I'm guessing not many feel at home here.

I do think Ha liked Ptd and if there was some stud Vietnamesse basketball player out there . . . well hell serve up the dog and call them signed because they would feel right at home in Portland. :D

$3 million is "small"? Hell, give me that money in the next five years and tell me it's "small". :)

Go Time could be right on this; but that supports the argument that Portland was lucky not to get Hedo. This is not a guy hungry for a championship!

No, not really. It is a shame that all Toronto fans can come up with these days is to call any Portland insight into Hedont as itter, whining or sour grapes. It is not. You are a producer here, you have seen the many posters that were staunchly against Hedo, as well as our media. So unless you can provide more input than the Toronto company line, it would be best to refrain from the Portland board. *edited* Not very cosmopolitan at all. Now go get the talking points on how BC is going to get a bench. That is the insight we want from a *edited*.

Well it's not a Portlandean insight, it's from an Orlando fan's viewpoint. And it is bitter, whiny, and shortsighted. He trots out a bunch of arbitrary reasons why Hedo should've stayed, ignoring why both he and the Magic were dead-set on ending their partnership (the Carter trade). In the end, all I got was a mental image of the writer shaking his fists in anger and shouting that Hedo would rue the day he spurned Orlando.

I've frequented this board quite a lot during Hedopalooza, and have seen much more thought-out and nuanced opinions than what was presented in this article.

Portland is like Stockholm, Copenhagen or Munich--a nice, pleasant, small city.

Portland is nothing like Istanbul...not to mention the majority of the city is in Asia.

My final thought on Hedogate is that it's basically the Trenton Hassell non-signing on steroids. Big free agent signing for a role playing small forward that was absolutely finalized right up until they canceled the press conference.

A few years from now most of us will be scratching our heads and wondering what the big deal was about.
