All the more reason to wait until the deadline, or at least until the season! If this is true, that's even FEWER max contracts to dole out... Some seriously talented guys will be going to teams over the cap (like us!) for MLEs next offseason!
That number seems high. I understand the capholds for our Euros don't count during the season, but we currently only have 10 players under contract, and I think the CBA demands you have at least 11. Also, I would be surprised if at minimum we don't sign Cunningham and Pendergraph. That would still mean we have around $9 million in cap room.
Not to mention that the luxury tax will be near $60 million. This is going to really screw things up!
The 2nd rounders should have minimum contracts, which won't reduce cap space as we have cap holds in the place anyways. But if we use more then the minimum roster spots those extra players will reduce cap space.
I'm just wrong Tince. Fuck. The big news though is next offseasons cap number. Estimated at 50 -53????? There are even a lot of teams now that might back off on signing players because of that.
