Hughes has been out for 45 games this year, and other aquisitions Marshall and Jones are having career-worst years in terms of 3pt shooting that the Cavs struggle in. Thing is, LeBron had to carry his franchise just as much as Kobe has to carry the Lakers. Nash has good teamates. But the only reason they're playing well is because Nash has made them play better. He's a pass-first point guard. He simply just makes his teamates play better than they ever have. Who the hell knew about Eddie House, Boris Diaw, James Jones, Leandro Barbosa, and Raja Bell? Mostly all of them are having their best years. Shawn Marion is also an MVP candidate. Why? Because of Nash. You also have to throw in the fact that Nash has only played with Amare Stoudemire for 3 games. While Amare is trying to get back in uniform for next season, Nash is performing all this wizardry out on the court. Also, Quentin Richardson who played with PHX last year, averaged 15 PPG. Now, he's wishing he never got traded to the Knicks. One of his worst career years, 8.2 ppg. The MVP award is about how your presence changes your team in a positive way, and its not about self-performance. That's why I think Kobe isnt going to be MVP.</div>

MVP doesn't have anything to do with stats. MVP is about the person who best has the ability to help his team win ball games.
MVP has alot to do with stats. A player who leads his team will most likely have good stats. Bruce Bowen might have been the most important player for the Spurs this year in terms of leadership, defense, late-game play, but we don't see him up for MVP... Do we? Tony Parker might have been the Spurs' best guy this year, but we don't see him up for MVP do we? Stats are very relevant
I disagree. No one was up for the Spurs because there are plenty of guys leading that team. Steve Nash didn't have great stats last year. He won. Maybe you are right though. They do take stats into consideration. I don't think they should though.

MVP does not go to the best player in the Game. That is rediculous. It goes to the player who helps his team the best. Was Nash the best player in the NBA last year?
BCB, why do you hate on Nash so much? Just accept the fact that he's one of the best PGs in the game right now and a likely candidate for MVP.
Why are so many people hating on Nash? It makes me question wheter people actually watch NBA games, and don't just watch stupid highlights every morning while sipping up an orange juice and eating french toast

I don't hate on Nash, he was my MVP pick a few weeks ago and I love watching him whenever the Suns play on TV.
