Did they have to renounce Frye?

I get why you do it, but now that our only target said no, it makes no sense. I don't think we really needed to renounce him until we were ready to sign someone else right?

Renounce? We didn't re-sign him and he just walked. I don't think any renouncing is needed.

So in theory we could still re-sign him like Toronto is trying ot do with Marion?

Like a re-signed Frye, Travis and Blake for Nash......hypothetically

We had to renounce his Bird Rights to clear a huge cap hold.

We could always resign him if we wanted to, but I don't think Nate likes him and Frye doesn't like Nate either.

Are they the same issues everyone else in this forum has with Frye?

WHy did you drag Fry into this? You could have just stopped with "Nate has issues..." P.S. If we don't trade/sign a PG then I better see 25 minutes per game out of Bayless if not more.

Channing's days were numbered anyway. I don't think anyone wanted him back after the season.. unless it was in an analyst role.

Because he could have accepted the qualifying offer. That would cut our cap space in half. If we really want him we can sign him with our cap space now. We just don't hold his bird rights.

No, the kids around here are nice, but pretty clueless.

Nate's main issues with Fry was that he was very laid back and care free when Nate wanted him to be a fire breating dragon. He didn't think Fry played with enough heart and passion and that drove him nuts. I remember a game where Fry hit 4 shots in a row but looked very nonchelant and Nate pulled him and looked down the bench shaking his head.

I think that's right... the team had to offer a qualifying offer or not... if we offered it, he might have accepted and then the team would have been stuck with him.

I am no huge fan of Pendergraph nor Cunningham, but at a minimum salary I'd take my chances with them and the accompanying capspace rather than pay Frye the $4m or whatever the QO would have been.

Not sure what that means or how it is relevant here.

I'm with you. Seeing how the first two days of FA are already over and we haven't signed jack shit, there's no chance of signing anyone at this point. This sucks. Fire KP.

Yes, but the first week is over to negotiate with them, and we didn't get jack shit. There is little left out there for us.

So, which PFs are off the market now that we should have signed, out of curiosity?

    Really, you wanted Charlie Vanillawafer?

Not to mention how much everyone would be bitching right now if we still had Frye and the cap hold he represented. KP would be an absolute moron for keeping him. God, some fans are so fickle.

I know you don't truly feel this way and your just trying to get some attention from people like me. I guess it's working.

    Shit...
