How does this work exactly? I thought we could work out sign-and-trades so long as we didn't take any salary back (so as not to compromise the cap space we have earmarked for Hedo).
according to the reports- marion's agent (Fegan) and cuban are spearheading the S&T and obviously colangelo is hesitant about taking back any salary. although, if we could somehow manage to get jj barea in this package- i would do it in a heartbeat and somehow dispense of hump's salary on the bobcats or thunder
i read that but i dont know if its as incentivized for the raptors as the writer claims cause stackhouse contract would represent a 2 mill cap hit and hump salary would only clear 900, 000 dollars. the best case scenario for the raps is to trade hump outright for a pick and use the 3 million to acquire a fa or get jj barera in the s&t with dallas.
I guess it all really hinges on the what Hump gets traded for. I know it seems impossible, but I think Marcus Banks could be traded to a small-market team if we included some cash and maybe a 2nd rounder at the side. Turkoglu probably signs within the next couple days, so tomorrow should be full of rumours as Colangelo sets the stage for that signing.
Thanks for the clarification. A third-party shouldn't be that hard to find. Stackhouse's contract represents some upcoming cap relief for teams, and maybe a 2nd or two could be added in. I think we benefit a lot from Dallas' apparent enthusiasm to acquire Marion. It sure as hell is awesome to have Mark Cuban's staff working the phones in your interests.
the thing that kind of scares me is that its implied that we dont even have the cap room to sign hedo and we need additional cap room just to get the deal done. i wonder if the "erudite and professional" raptor management miscalculated the cap numbers.
I'm sure they ran through the numbers and options with Turk's agent before they reneged on their commitment to Portland.

I feel like he's sacrificed his journalistic integrity to get closer to the organization. As a result, you see him come out with a lot of the fluff pieces (eg: the Jose interview), but lag behind when it comes to breaking news and providing meaningful analysis. I also don't think his source(s) is as helpful as he makes it out to be. And he seems resigned to the fact that Grange is better than him too. He frequently complains about how unpredictable this front office is, instead of actually trying to find more sources and figure out how to better keep track of them. And on his blog he tends to just refer to his sources rather than make an effort to understand issues better (eg: his responses to reader questions about the CBA have been pitiful).

I read somewhere that along with Marion we get rid of another contract, reportedly either Humphries or Banks for additional cap space.
