The onyl way this could have been better is if Banks would've been gone too ( I know that couldn't happen but still)

colangelo must have pictures on otis smith. if colangelo can use the mle effectively he may be able to bolster the team dramatically. i say go "big":biglaugh::biglaugh: and use the entire mle on nate robinson, then use the bi annual on kleiza

i highly doubt kleiza gets anything more than the 1.8 million bi-annual from anyone except maybe the nuggets.

Wow Colangelo pulled through. Guess we won't be that thin on the bench. Not saying we got an all-stars as backups, but compared to what we were lookin' at before this is an upgrade. I would love to sign Nate with the MLE.

This plus lowered cap in 2010, it'd say if we can at least make a push for a good playoff run, then Bosh could likely stay

David Aldridge on NBA.com doesn't mention George or Wright being a part of the deal?

im an idiot- no way we pursue nate robinson, he's a ball stopper plus his entire game is reliant on his athleticism. i think we need to purse ramon sessions with the entire mle and kleiza with the bi-annual

This might be one of the best moves in Colangelo's tenure with the Raptors, if not his career. Not so much because of what we got, but because of the situation he was able to maneuver out of. Where we were once up the against the wall, now we have about $8 million to spend in a buyer's market. I don't think anyone in the NBA (media or outside executives) thought he'd be able to pull such a coup. This is capology at its best. And it makes the Hedo deal a little bit easier to accept.

the question now is how do they use their mle wisely? doug smith is theorizing delfino but he's doesnt do much for me, i say ramon sessions who can anchor the reserves, backup an injury prone caledron and finish games potentially at the two.

Have we renounced our rights to Delfino? If not, can't we re-sign him without it dipping into our MLE (bird rights)?

i dont think we have officially renounced delfino nor parker yet, this trade ensured that. however, im talking about best bang for ones buck and i say ramon sessions. a frugal bucks franchise led by a republican senator arent going to match the offersheet and sessions is the exact need to be addressed.

I wouldn't mind that one bit. We had one of our best years in franchise history when we had two starting-calibre PG's who gave us 48 minutes of quality play. However, I think Milwaukee matches. All their salary-shedding moves up to now (the Jefferson trade, allowing Villanueva to walk for nothing) suggest that Sessions has been their sole concern this offseason.

Is Klieza worth bringing in? I've seen him occaisonally, but have had to rely on scouting reports and second-hand accounts more than I'd like.

kleiza is alright but they need to add to their frontcourt, that might mean pops or rasho. nevertheless, here's why the bucks dont match- they have already committed over 62 million in salaries and they have two point guards already in ridnour who makes a boatload of money and brandon jennings. its does not make economic sense for them to give a third point guard the full mle, i think they were banking on a much smaller contract but if we blow them out of the water they would simply submerge. and sessions is a terrific player, a potential sixth man of the year candidate in my opinion.
