Depends. If we only absorb salary and a player (say Thomas) goes to Utah, we wouldn't have any cap space left to use on Bass.

If we get Hinrich plus Thomas instead of Millsap I still say we should trade Joel for Battier.

    Hinrich, Bayless, Mills
    Roy, Rudy, Battier
    Battier, Batum, Roy, Rudy
    Aldridge, Thomas, Cunningham
    Oden, LMA, Pendergraph

I like that depth chart. I still prefer:

    PG Hinrich/Bayless/Mills
    SG Roy/Rudy
    SF Battier/Batum
    PF LMA/Millsap/Cunningham
    C Oden/LMA/Pendergraph

2's and 3's are interchangable to a large degree.

Which one of those do you guys prefer?

It makes sense, Portland gets Captain Kirk and Thomas, Chicago gets a big, along with Blake and Outlaw, Utah gets to keep Millsap along with expiring contract and trade exception. Worse case senerio we get Millsap.

I'd hat to lose Joel, but if we added Battier in a deal I might be able to live with it. It really depends on how Greg plays this upcoming season, if he has a break out season we might be say Joel who? Joel was the achor for this team last year on defense.

Old news. I told you guys yesterday KP was "making a move" on Millsap to get Utah back to the table with Chicago.

This makes sense. Though I'd rather get a Gerald Wallace or Caron Butler in the 3-way, this is a deal that clears minutes for Batum and Rudy, and gets us a real, boring old-fashioned starting quality PG. Makes a lot more sense than actually getting Millsap and keeping Joel.

If we did this deal, that would be basically it for the summer. And that would be fine with me.

I wish you would know how to spell "you're" when making a snide remark.

How does it do that? We are adding two players and not getting rid of anyone?

I still think it might be worth throwing at least Outlaw or Blake, or both, into this trade. If we get Thomas, he isn't going to sit well on the end of the bench. He will probably barely be able to sit behind Aldridge and Batum.

If we had Rudy still backing up Roy, and getting less minutes at the 1 because of Hinrich and a developing Bayless; and had Thomas getting minutes behind LMA, and a developing Batum; I'm afraid we are going to be introducing some real chemistry problems here. If you keep Blake and Outlaw it is just that much worse.

I wish you would put on a Nazi uniform before becoming the grammar Nazi. By the way it's not spelling, it is known as punctuation. Now that has been said, you can see that really being a dick about spelling and punctuation is a waste of time. Folks are just trying to communicate. Who gives a shit if they don't put as much effort into it as an english major. You would probably go nuts if you texted a lot, and blow a fuse.

    I don't like this.

Getting Milsap then moving Joel, Travis, and Steve for an upgrade at the 3 or the 1 is better than getting Hinrich and Thomas and moving Travis and Steve. At least, at first thought it is. I'll to re-evaluate Tyrus. I wasn't that enamored with him before.

Besides we'd be allowing Utah to better themselves.

Let's put the screws to them. Make them pay a crap load for Milsap. Then, and only then, take Boozer and move him for a better package than Hinrich and Thomas.

You wouldn't like to get Hinrich and a backup 4 that isn't very good for Blake and TrOut (who is probably odd man out if he stays)?

How Utah getting better, by picking up two expiring contracts and some trade exception? Now I was never good at Monopoly, but I don't see some sneaky great trade for Utah here.

Would you consider Deng and Hinrich instead? The numbers would be pretty close if we renounce Kopo/Freeland.

I'd rather have Battier then Deng. We could use that kind of drive, BBIQ, clutch shooting and veteran Moxie.

My ideal was stated above trade Outlaw, Blake and Joel. Then sign or trade for Millsap, Hinrich and Battier.

We add veterans and toughness/grit to the extreme almost all of our problems are solved. We just need Bayless/Batum/Rudy/Oden to develop and we have the squad we all dream of and can challenge LA and CLE(or wherever LBJ is) for the next decade.

Maybe my thinking cap is tied on tight today. Are you asking "and how?"
