At the same time, if you were a struggling franchise, and had a chance to pick up a star level player like Boozer that might start setting your franchise straight, why not pull the trigger and start the move. Then you would have Boozer, Gay, OJ Mayo and Conley with Marc Gasol. That team might make a big jump in the W-L column, and help turn that franchise around.

Mutombo also went down. The next tallest guy on their team is 6'9" (unless ariza is taller) Yao is NOT playing this year. The best case scenario is something like 9 months. Some other surgeries may take as long as 3 years, and this is the same injury he's had before, which may mean he is DONE.

you know, the bulls just signed Pargo, and Rose is clearly their future. Does this mean they are going to be more likely to move heinrich?

mutumbo is no longer under contract so he has no bearing on the situation.

you can say that yao isn't playing this year if you want to make that declaration. however, the possibility of yao playing this season has not been ruled out by yao, the rockets, or the nba. i think at the very least if you get an injury exception for a player, they shouldn't be able to come back and play that season.

Why wouldn't they. He opted in two weeks ago for this upcoming year with the discussion that Utah would give him an extension beyond that.

one would think KP would be in the know about such things as an offer made to Millsap that Quick is "reporting". At 3PM on Canzano's show he denied that an offer had been made... it's probably safe to stop searching for that corroborating source.

As if KP would confirm an offer even if one was made.

If Ptd made an offer, wouldn't that have to be disclosed to Utah . . . . if there is an offical offer for Milsap, we will know.

if millsap signed an offer sheet with portland, we would all know and yes, kp would confirm it.

of course that's different from making an offer.

Yah, but we'd have to first find a FA who thinks Portland is a more cosmopolitan city than the one they're thinking of going to.

Look out Milwaukee and Sacramento! We're gonna take someone you're interested in!

I just get that Quick said that Millsap hasn't signed the offer sheet yet or that it hasn't gotten to him. It could very well be that he hasn't signed it yet because it hasn't been offered to him yet.

To be honest, with Yao's injury, Houston is in the market for a center. I'm surprised they didn't make a move towards Gortat. I could see a Battier for Pryzbilla deal easily if we sign Millsap (and then have Outlaw/Pendergraph to backup the 4/5). We could always bring in Freeland if we need more depth (I think it'd be a mistake to renounce him, he's a highly rated prospect with rights held according to DraftExpress). I love Pryzbilla and what he does for the team. I don't WANT to move him. But if we get a quality, young backup big, then he IS more expendable. Still could be a very solid offseason with that in mind.
