As much as I love Vince, Pierce has better stats, is more versitile, and is an unselfish player to back it up. Pierce's team is rebuilding, so you can't compare that aspect. If Vince keeps playing like he is now, he might edge Pierce out one day, but as of now I take Pierce

Very close. VERY close. I'll give the nod to Pierve, mainly because of better D and isn't as soft.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nba dogmatist @ Feb 22 2006, 07:55 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Oh my God.. :no3: Pierce shoots a better percentage than VC, so it doesn't matter that other players are demanding shots. If VC shoots less, he should have a higher percentage. And actually, i just looked it up and Vince Carter shoots the ball MORE than Paul Pierce anyways.Do you even watch Paul Pierce? He has a bigger repitoire on offense than Vince. You THINK Vince has more moves bc he finishes w/ a flashy dunk all the time, and Pierce just does anything to score. Paul has one of the more prominent mid-ranges in the league, and he's shooting over 36% form beyond the arc, not bad at all. And since when does it matter how they played in the past?? What matters is how they are playing NOW, that's what the comparison is.FYI, David Stern picked the starter to fill in for Jermaine O'Neal, not Flip. [IMG] And since when does that matter anyway? they don't pick the starters for all-star games do to their versatility tard, they picked VC bc he's athletic and flashy.WHAT?? That's the dumbest thing i've ever heard. Paul Pierce is even averaging more than VC. He's doing well? Oh, I forgot how horrible Paul is doing with the Celtics.. :rolleyes:Oh, and dunking is the most important aspect of the game.. [IMG] And what does it matter that he's on a better team? That just means he has a better supporting cast. It has nothing to do w/ that players abilities.</div>Man, you just killed 'em. Way to go. Great points there :worthy:

I also believe that Paul Pierce is better than Vince Carter... as much as I hate him. Take a look at the stats for this year, and you'll see Pierce is having the better individual season. Then, for those of you who want to bring in team success, take a look at the rosters for each team, and then tell me that Vince could lead the C's to a better record than they currently have with Pierce.Vince is an amazing player, there is no doubt about it, but I'd much rather start my franchise around Pierce, and if I had the option of trading Vince for Pierce, I'd most certainly do it.

If I was Rod Thorn and got a offer saying Pierce for Carter, i would never do it.

This is one of the most evenly matched comparisons you'll get. I'd take Pierce, but not by much.Scoring wise, equal with possible edge to Pierce, although not much of a difference. VC is a better jump shooter, while Pierce is more efficient and better at driving to basket.Passing, I'd say VC. He as great courtvision.Defensively, Pierce is a better defender.Rebounding, Pierce once again. In final few seconds I think it is equal with 5 seconds left in game, but for overall 4th quarter it goes to Pierce. VC is the better playmaker/PG, which sort of goes along with passing.Overall, very evenly matched, but nod goes to Pierce.

Vince has established himself as a faker.... If probably fakes injuries just to get some rest. I kind of think a lot of other players do this. I'm not saying he has no heart for the game its just i couldn't believe he would do that to the raptors especially after all his talk of the raptors gonna do this and that years ago. But Pierce and Vince viewed by talent like Nitro stated on here is evenly matched. Pierce gets my pick though especially if u see what he is doing for his team an his stat sheet this year.In conclusion I would say Vince... His stats may just be as good as pierce or even better if jefferson was not there.odd aint it

Ya Vince has really established himself as a fakerWait, this is 06, not 04. This year, Vince has played with a strained muscle somewhere in his leg, and a strained back. While Vince is no longer Michael Jordan (In terms of toughness), he is certainly no longer the Class-A-<Censored> he was in Toronto

guys, think of it this way. If you were to start a franchise today, who would you Pick?Paul Pierce is more of a franchise player. He can score just as well as Vince if not better, he can grab over 7 boards a game as a SG, he can defend, he is a willing passer (i won't argue that he's more willing than Vince. I would call it a wash), He can score from literally everywhere on the court, he is efficient and he is a leader. That last part is the most important part. And for the people who say Vince is better, you list all the things he is good at, but what gives him the edge? everything you list, Paul can do, or do better.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jkidd51524 @ Apr 8 2006, 07:19 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If I was Rod Thorn and got a offer saying Pierce for Carter, i would never do it.</div>What the hell makes you think Danny Ainge would EVER offer Pierce for Carter anyways?and btw, you haven't made ONE point arguing your case yet..

That wasn't an explanation at all. If you're going to pick someone atleast explain yourself. That is made clear in the guidelines
