There is that. There is also the "dominating Summer League does not a player make".

Portland brought in Anthony Randolph last year as well... he had a pretty nice rookie year. He was my guy @13

Wow that's cold. I laughed, but I do feel bad for Mills.

Two-time Summer League MVP Qyntel Woods and I are having a good laugh about this thread.

It's really odd how KP has struck out on second round picks - he either trades them away or takes McRoberts and Green while passing on the Millsaps, Sessions, and little Gasols. For someone who has done fairly well in the late first round (wont judge Freeland or Koponen until they come over.. if they come over) it is odd that this somehow doesn't translate into the second round too.

    Edit:

I am hoping Pendergraph is a bit of good luck in the second round cesspool we have entered though.

Ah, the Qyntel Woods MVP myth still has legs I see. Next up, "Bo Outlaw dominated Summer League".

How is it odd that KP has struck out on second round picks? I'd bet 90% of them end up flushing out of the league in two years. Whiffing on second rounders is the rule, not the exception in the NBA

So you pick 3 players that KP, and 28 other GMs missed out on that were in the 2nd round of recent drafts and say he has 'struck out'? Explain how?

It's funny (but not funny ha-ha) - last year the player the Blazers brought back for a second look was Luc Mbah a Moute, and he turned out pretty good. I'm hoping Beaubois doesn't turn out the same. Is there anyone else we brought back a couple of times? Cunningham?

Don't we have a PG that can score 30 points in a summer league game? I admit I have know clue who this guy is. How many assists did he have to go along with his 21 shots?

    8 (2 TOs).

Well, he was a first round pick. It's not like we picked Pendergraph and Cunningham over him. Had we picked him with our 1st, everybody would have freaked out just the same, saying we reached, and for a PG nonetheless. It's entirely possible KP would have loved to have him with one of our early seconds. He just liked Claver better, is all.

Exactly. He was picked 25th overall. What does Patty Mills have to do with him? It's not like we passed on him for Mills.

Greg Ostertag dominating Tim Duncan in Summer league didn't really carry over well to the NBA did it?

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Due to systems. San Antonio featured Duncan while Ostertag had to stand in line behind Stockton and Malone.

Switch them and things might go very differently...!
