I definitely agree with you there. IF KP screws the pooch on this, I'm done with Pritchard, I'm done with Vulcan, I'm done with Allen, and I'm done with the Blazers until all three are gone.
I thought you were ignoring me? I'm offended that you want to actually hear some critical thinking on the matter.
You were on my Ignore list long ago, for trying so fucking hard to be right. For getting people with gotcha's. And yes, you are belligerent about it. You push and prod and push and push until you get that admission. So here it is. I was wrong on something. There you go. I WAS WRONG AND YOU WERE RIGHT. I had taken you off ignore because I try to get over people's shitty posts occasionally, and turn over a new leaf. Now that I've satisfied you, I'm going to put you back on ignore, because you are pretty insufferable.
Don't you know that you can't have any actual business acumen here? You have to react in a knee-jerk emotional way!!!!!!!!!
I think trading LMA for a player with a shorter contract could be a good option if we are able to land Millsap. I'd throw LMA/Rudy at Denver for 'Melo. It's a fair offer. Melo is an elite player with 3 years left on his deal. That fits this financial window the Blazers (or Vulcan) now have.
You shouldn't feel like an outsider. You realize it's only a couple of really outspoken people who are passionate about this and can't see both sides of the story. When Roy is extended this summer, you can just be thankful you didn't shave 5 years off your life stressing out or getting angry about it.
I don't follow every FA or anything, but how many actually plan ahead of time to make a statement on the matter? Shouldn't this stuff stay between player and team? It seems like the only time a player plans to make a statement it usually ends up bad, either trade or injury or something. Roy going public and making a statement is not a good thing.
Wow, that's a very emotional reaction. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to lose five years of my life by posting my interpretation of the available facts regarding the negotiations of Brandon Roy. What a weird post.
It's possible that the content of the statement will make us all soil our panties with fear. It may be that, in a game of hardball, Roy's Agent just told Roy to bean KP at the plate. There may be an ultimatum involved, and the publicity of the statement will only serve to swing public opinion deeper into the Roy/Roy's Agent camp, creating a situation among normal folk that rivals the frothiest of posts here on S2. But you know what happened to the boy who suddenly got everything he always wanted? He lived happily ever after. This public statement is probably intended to force KP to fish or cut bait. KP, knowing that he is mortal, and that 500,000 Portlanders (some of whom own guns and GPS units) see his life as intrinsically tied to Roy's happiness, will probably relent. But it will have been a hard negotiation. And the only collateral damage will have been the innocence of the Portland fans, for having seen how the sausage is made.
