I don't think we're "so deep" upfront. We have no backup PF. And so far Oden and Joel haven't exactly been stellar as 5's.

As for the 'getting frugal', I bet this is from the top of the organization, not KP.

Re: OT: Jarrett Jack to the Raptors?

One of the primary reasons he left for your Europe last year is because he wanted to finish contract negotiations quickly so that he could join his national team. The prospect of a long drawn-out negotiation process with a Raptors team just below the luxury tax led him to quickly accept the best offer in Europe (and there were quite a few). So last year's departure didn't mean that he prefers Europe or is focused solely on the money. It just showed that he strongly values his national team commitment. Additionally, those rich offers from Russian teams turned out to be fools gold, to a certain extent. There many reports of late/delayed paycheques from Khimki and former-NBA players frustrated with the situation.

Delf should be fine in the starting lineup. He'll be needed primarily as a defender and rebounder, and he does that pretty well. He's low-key, so he should be workmanlike in a starting lineup with a lot of bigger-name scorers. And his shooting range and ability to play minutes at the 1 are a bonus.

OT-Jack signs offer sheet with Toronto?

I heard this on the radio . . . no details or links.

Jack is an UFA with Indy . . . Indy is on the clock

You're very late to the party.

He signed it awhile ago and he's an RFA.

According to Rick Bucher, this move might be part of Toronto's all-out press to get Bosh to stay. Bosh and Jack were roomies at Georgia Tech and remain tight.

or maybe it's less sinister than that and they're not sure DeRozan's going to be able to handle the starting 2.

DeRozan is not a starting guard yet. He's going to take time.

I think the Raptors will be happy to start a guy like Delfino in the meantime, supposing they bring him back.

^^ Which sounds doubtful. According to a RealGM poster.

The Indianapolis Star is reporting that if the Pacers don't match the Raptors' four-year, $20 million offer sheet for point guard Jarrett Jack(notes), they could turn their attention to Sixers' free agent Andre Miller. The Sixers apparently offered Miller a one-year deal for just under $6 million
