Nice pick up for them. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi..._cap_room_by_trading_afflao_sharpe_to_denver/ Also opens up more cap space for Detroit.
7M and 11M respectively. They have around 4.5 Million in free capspace now. Not sure Boozer makes any sense for them anymore with CV.
7 and 11 is the average over the deal. Are they escalating contracts, where the first year is less than that is what I am asking. Anybody know?
No, no Hasoos. You are only thinking of the Blazers. Every other team in the league actually can do damage with their cap money except Portland. Somehow Detroit will turn that into a player we could have used.
that's a nice pickup...smart player, kind of does a lot of things but none too great.....good for a second unit and stability....wow, affalo and then lawson, good offseason for them
And they got them for nothing other than second round picks. Portland had to use a second round pick to get rid of one of their players.......LOL and cash.
Why is Afflalo a good acquisition? He's still young-ish, but his PER was below 9 and his defensive rating was 110 last season. I don't blame Denver for acquiring him so cheaply, but not much indicates he's going to play well for the Nuggets. Ed O.
Sorry, you are 100% correct. Denver traded away what is likely to be 5 or fewer picks from the second round.
His PER was low because he was primarily a defender for them. Not asked to do much on offense. I don't put a whole lot of stock into DRtgs. team D is a huge factor in that rating.
Well you miss a lot about life . . . moving your family out of Oregon and to Texas. But to answer you question about this thread: The Nuggets, who lacked a first-round pick for the fourth straight year, landed Lawson in exchange for a future first-round pick they acquired from Charlotte last year. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=txlawsondraft&prov=st&type=lgns So I don't think KP could have done much with his 2nd round picks in this latest draft.
