Yo Melo and Nitro.. You're both wrong!!!!When MJ averaged 35 PPG he was being selfish. I don't know if you know this Melo, but:MJ was widely considered as one of the most selfish players ever before the 1990s. He was arguably more selfish than Kobe. However, in the 1990s, he was very unselfish. He gave up individual success for winning, and by watching him play one would know thatKobe on the other hand, has been selfish from his first year, to now

Did his selfishness begin on the bench ? Because that's where he was in his first couple of years.
Again, your lack of knowledge is amazing. Even on the bench, Kobe was being called selfish. I have a biography on Kobe Bryant that ranges from his first year, to the 1998-1999 season, and it chronicles how his teammates couldn't stand his selfishness. And again, you do remember how when they were winning three championships, people were criticizing him for being selfish. He;s always been selfish, most of the time, unnecessarily
I never said no-one called him selfish in his ealier years. Where did i say that? You just admitted most of it was unnecessary. Are you saying his selfishness was blown out of proportion? Because that's what i'm trying to get at. Which player isn't selfish? None but some are more selfish than others.
I'll break it down for you:<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He obviously had some selfishness in him but you cannot be totally selfish when you iniate a 3 team championship team.</div> During his run of three championships, Kobe was also in the midst of being called selfish by teammates, and media members alike. This justifies the fact that during this run, Kobe was indeed totally selfish. He was much too selfish during that span, despite the fact the Lakers won three championships.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Did his selfishness begin on the bench? Because that's where he was in his first couple of years.</div>I have a book chronicoling Kobe's early years in the NBA, from 1996 - 1999. In that span, there were numerous articles about how Kobe was thought as a selfish and uncoachable player by his teammates. In conclusion, no, you didn't say that "no one ever called Kobe selfish" I was using that point to justify that despite the circumstance, bench player, 2nd option, 1st option, All Star, role player, Kobe has always been incredibly selfish
I disagree, you cannot be totally selfish when you play 2nd fiddle for 3 straight years. The key word is totally, if kobe was totally selfish he wouldn't sit back in the nba finals and let shaq get the Finals MVP.edit: If you read Phil jackson's "The last season" he says he never gave kobe a chance. When you don't give a person a chance don't expect the person to do excatly what you say.
I read that book, and it actually made Kobe look more selfish and look like more of a prick. Actually, now that you bring it up, it's one of my primary sources for my hatred of Kobe Bryant.
Since you said you read the book, do you remember the part where Phil said he never gave kobe a chance?
No. But I do remember Phil talking about how Kobe always talked back to him, and how he depicted Kobe as uncoachable
Oh well, he admitted he basically never gave kobe a chance. When you don't give a person a chance don't expect the person to listen to you.
Dude, the whole book is basically Kobe being a prick. Maybe Phil said he didn't give Kobe a chance, but at the same time, Kobe was depicted as a selfish prick throughout. If I remember correctly, there was one instant where Phil talks about Kobe randomly calling Shaq a MF for no reason (Or perhaps that was another book. All I know is that I read it somewhere )
Oh, did you forget about when Shaq threatened not to rebound or play defense if he didn't get the ball majority of the time?
