    Forgot this part.

If he doesn't take this deal then he can leave, plain and simple. If you read the article, it says that Jerry has grown frustrated with this ordeal and may take the offer off the table. Take it or leave it Lamar. My guess is they give him a deadline soon, and if he doesn't accept, we move on to something else.

    Take it or leave it.

I'm sick of this crap. If I was Buss, I'd scrap the offer and find a sign and trade deal.

9 million? Come on Lamar stop sassing us. :[

Sounds like we offered him a contract longer than three years from that story?

I get the feeling he'll crumble soon and sign.

I suspect we've tried two approaches with Lamar.

Approach 1: more years, less money.

Now, approach 2: More money, less years.

    Pick on, Odumb.

Yeah, I didn't catch the "first three years" part.

This is the best he's gonna get. If he doesn't accept it, then he doesn't want to be here to begin with. If he ends up "settling" for this offer, it might mean 9 million a year for an unfocused, unmotivated Lamar Odom, which I'm hoping isn't true. I still think he's gonna be back, but if we're getting the LO who doesn't give a shit (see first month or so of last year, when he didn't accept the idea of coming off the bench), we won't see much of a drop off from him, or JP quite frankly.

Mitch should be working the phones to see what Plan B will give us. I'm sick of this waiting.

Maybe it is a 3 year deal with a team option on the 4th year?

Give him a deadline and he'll panic when he realizes we're the best he has? Worth a shot and looks like Mitch wants to go that route.

He has a deadline. Buss is getting ready to pull the deal, according to the article.

If I'm Mitch, I'm telling him this is our FINAL ofer. 3 years, 9-9.3 million, team option for a 4th year, 48 hours to decide.

48 hours? Damn that's too harsh. What if he oversleeps.

I guess he'll be a Miami Heat then for roughly $5.8 million.

It's Lamar so you gotta give a little leeway. Say 48 hours, but that most likely means a deadline of 72. He may oversleep, or just wake up and completely forget what's going on.

It's LO, so yeah. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHH

This is such a pathetic negotiation. How can there be a contest between north of 9M with the team that helped you win a title compared to 5.8M with the team that traded you in the first place. God, Odom, you suck. If this goes on for more than 2 days, I doubt that Odom is still gonna remain a Laker.

Maybe he is still upset about the playing time?

I think it worked out great because it kept him fresh. That's all I can think of, that or he didn't think we would set a deadline until just now.

Then WTF does he want? For us to promise him a starting job?

He gets more chances and more money here than any other team in the L.
