He's been consistently getting better. Injuries slowed him down when he was originally drafted, but he has the skillset, youth and upside I'd want to replace Odom with. He's developed into Atlanta's best perimeter defender on the wing, plays above the rim and can handle the basketball. He's not the rebounder Odom is, but Bynum/Gasol should snag most boards anyways. Marvin has better shooting mechanics than Odom and should get much better looks playing alongside the studs in LA. Just look at how poorly Ariza shot the ball before he became a Laker. Marvin has the foundation already to be deadly from outside. Plus he makes his free throws at an 80% clip.
Let's just hope that ATL would even consider trading him. Management seems pretty high on him. After all they passed up CP3. lol This S&T might be possible, but I'm not sure ATL would be interested in Odom seeing as they already have a tweener in Josh Smith, who is younger and more athletic. (Although more idiotic too.)
My guess is Buss doesn't want to shell out 10 million or so on players he doesn't think will be worth it. If a good deal can be made, I think we'll do it, but he won't accommodate LO's request for a contract just so we can get random people back. In other words, either accept our offer, or your on your own. We're not gonna help you get the money you want.
Gotcha. It's a good choice, but I'm not really sure we can get an FA pickup that will improve the team.
Good threat I think from Buss. Eliminate the idea of a trade, get him to sign for a very reasonable price. We won't be forced into jack.
