Thanks. I think she is cuter than emplay, but that is just my opinion.

What's 1 extra year to Odom's agent anyway? If they had signed the 36/4 contract, Odom would already be loaded, an I'm sure he could afford playing the 5th year at a discount counting his huge overpaying contract.

I don't find Emplay that credible. I mean, yeah he has broken some news, but I don't take him credible. He doesn't work for a big news paper or anything. I'm pretty sure Ramona has more pull than him.

    Romona twitters:

He wants that, but won't settle for 4 years 36 million, which is essentially more money.

    smh

I think what Buss is unsure of is whether Odom would still be productive/worth the money that they will pay him by the time he is 34.

Less luxury tax strain with my deal though, and just four million more total which means it is like the same offer. I think Lo is looking for a 40-45 ish deal.

Re: Lakers had made new offer of 36/4, 30/3 to LO.

Wojo reported LO is looking for 5 year / $45M. The reason the Lakers don't want to sign him to long term deal is to have cap flexibility for Gasol and possibly Kobe again.

I don't care if Odom ends up in Miami. If they want to pay that much for him then he can be their problem.

They can offer full MLE, which he apparently thinks is more attractive than our offers.

So why the hell don't we just scrap this whole negotiating and just offer him MLE money. lol

    Haha no kidding.

The only way this makes sense is if Odom really wants to play in Miami rather than with the Lakers. Which of course makes him a bold face liar and fraud.

Re: Lakers had made new offer of 36/4, 30/3 to LO.

This is going to come down to timing.

The Utah Jazz must match Millsap's offer sheet by this Friday. The Jazz actually have to take a bank loan out to afford the toxic contract Portland gave him.

If the Jazz cannot or won't match it means they aren't going to trade Boozer and it also removes Portland from having cap space to land Odom.

This would be the best case scenario for the Lakers and the only desirable team left would be Dallas.

The government can go and award the Utah Jazz 1 billion dollars, we still have the best deal.

Re: Lakers had made new offer of 36/4, 30/3 to LO.

I wonder if there's a sign & trade deal to be made with Miami? I'd be content with Haslem/Wright for Odom. The Heat would still have enough expiring contracts to acquire Boozer and the Lakers would get two servicable players on the final year of their contracts.

Haslem is playoff tested and can do the dirty work for us. He also has a solid mid-range jumper to spread the floor. I'm not sure what the Lakers can get out of Wright, but he has shown flashes of what he's capable of. Worst case scenario he becomes a movable piece at the trade deadline.

I'm not concerned about Bynum's foul troubles. He wasn't having them often in the regular season and it takes time for players and officials to adjust to one another. Unfortunately, Bynum only recovered once the playoffs began and wasn't in game shape or rhythm to really compete at the level he's capable of. I have a lot of confidence in him having a breakout season for us. He'll more than make up for Odom leaving if it comes to that.

Press is making it seem like Odom is seriously considering the full MLE from Miami.
