Okay, excuse me if I'm late to the party on this one, however . . . Did Pritchard perhaps sign Millsap only to force the Jazz into trading Boozer to Chicago so that we could get Heinrich from them? In other words, was Heinrich our target all along?

Am I being a conspiracy freak, or is this just the latest brilliant move by KP? Talk about a Pritchslap! If this turns out to be the case, my admiration for the guy has gone to a new level.

Pretty sure it was a no lose for us. Either get Utah to trade Boozer and maybe get Hinrich, or end up with Millsap.

    Just playing...

I think it was seen as win/win. It could force them into the trade or we end up with Millsap, both of which are pretty good IMO.

If/when Utah matches, it was a good move that was all for not.

YES. THIS WAS ALL PART OF KP'S MASTER PLAN TO PRY KIRK HEINRICH FROM DA BULLZ. KP MASTERMINDED THE HEDO TURKOLUGU OFFER REVERSAL AS A SMOKESCREEN SO T-DOT WOULDN'T BID ON MILSAP.

Uh, no. Wouldn't go that far. I'm sure we actually wanted Turkoglu, but after that, our main target may be have become Heinrich. Would be interesting if Pritchard ever actually admitted this.

I agree with this sentiment, but think we also win if Utah takes Millsap because it keeps them in cap hell for the next three years.

I think it might be more complicated than that. I think that (for our cap space) they want Hinrich and other value (Tyrus?). Getting Hinrich for the cap space alone seems like a bit much, but if you can turn it into Hinrich and Tyrus (and much better defense), then you have something.

I don't think there were any plans to work with Utah on getting under the cap or lower. That would be helping your competition. The Blazers hopefully learned their lesson with that when they gave DWill to Utah and Paul to the Hornets. I think Portlands only interest in Hinrich is if they are dealing one on one, and in a salary dump (Blake/Outlaw).

Master plan? doubtful, because I think there's probably a 5% or less chance of the Bulls feeling somehow compelled to trade Hinrich to us. If we end up with him and the only price is Blake and maybe Outlaw I think it'll be a steal, but the reported demand of Jerryd Bayless wouldn't have been so hot; a Blake - Hinrich point guard rotation is too much duplication in style for my tastes.

Far more likely KP thought he could use Millsap if they don't match and worst case scenario they look for a team wanting to dump salary by the February trade deadline ... scratch that, worst case scenario is the trade deadline comes and goes (again) without any impact trades being made.
