As reported on Comcast 37, Roy went to a sports card shop in Seattle and charged kids $49 for an autograph. It must be nice to be a millionaire.

I guess what bothered me is that here's the people's choice, he's humble, he's just like us... and this tells me he's fully joined the pampered, uncaring athlete union.

I don't have any problem with this, personally. It's not like he was charging kids MORE... he was charging collectors. (More specifically, I presume it was the card shop that was charging, and he was getting an hourly fee or a per-signature fee or whatever... but that's a distinction without a difference.)

He's a pro athlete. This shouldn't shock anyone. He's still capable of being (and probably is) a really good guy.

It's completely understandable. Brandon has to make up for that fifth year the Blazers won't give him. At a projected amount of approximately $18.2MM, that's only 371,664 sigs at $49.00 a pop.

Why charge $49? And not $50? Does he charge tax, too?

Actually that is a typical thing to do when somebody pisses you off. If they piss you off, make em pay.
