Damn... Seriously... how could they pass up on this? Villanueva is too small to guard PF's like Duncan and Pau... Boozer would have done the job nicely and completed their lineup... Stuckey - Gordon - Villanueva - Boozer - Kwame would have been solid... plus whoever they can get for Rip or Rip off the bench. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60532/20090712/pistons_turned_down_prince_for_boozer/
Since when has Boozer played defense? Villanueva's a mediocre small forward. His offense is less efficient, and while he might not be able to guard top-level PF's, he can't guard any SF.
Pretty silly move by Detroit, IMO. Booze gives them a 20/10 PF while his expiring contract makes them major players in 2010.
I agree, they're not going anywhere without another major addition. Don't understand why they're so enamored with Prince in this situation.
i wouldnt be suprised at ALL if charlie v went in this year and averaged something like 20 and 10.... his per 36 min averages this year were 20 and 9... although they need to move rip badly... i think keeping tayshaun for boozer was a really good idea.... seeing as how boozer played something like 37 games last season...
