Rockets trade cash and a future 2nd round pick to the Atlanta Hawks for the rights to David Andersen. Hopefully this will turn out to be another Scola-type acquisition. INitially a 2002 2nd round pick, Andersen has been considered one of the best centers in Europe the last several years. The Rockets feel he'll bring offensive skills that will work well in Adelman's system (e.g. high post action, pick and pop, perhaps 3-point shooting). He's not known to be a good rebounder or defender, however. Jonathan Feigen suggests in his blog that the Rockets may give him a 2.6 million/year deal for maybe 2-3 years. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/sports/bk/bkn/6529269.html
Wow! The Rockets must really be desperate. Surely there are better options out there. I don't like to speak badly about a fellow countryman; but he's as soft as a limp lettuce leaf. Good luck to him.
I'd like to see the Rockets make a run at Ryan Hollins Dallas' restricted free agent, and could come cheap for a year or two. He has hieght, plays with fire, and looks like he can steadily improve.
