@SpearsNBA Sources tell Globe Big Baby, B Roy, D West, D Lee and A Bynum out of USA camp next week in Vegas, Anthony Randolph in.

I remember reading an article awhile back saying he was not going to accept the invitation. Wanted more rest.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Aldridge back out as well. If you dont' have a long term contract, you could end up risking your future.

Good point. The guy is in the midst of a pretty lengthy contract negotiation for a big-time deal. I wouldn't want to risk it either if there was a chance of getting injured.
As for G.O., get out there and play!

They've been resting since the end of Game 6. That's long enough for me. :)

Roy was pretty gassed by the end of the season. The Houston series was tough. It wouldn't surprise me if he wanted extra rest.

He has a new baby. Might want to spend a little extra time with the family before the next season.

The above two reasons may mean he decided weeks ago not to accept the invitation.

At this time I can almost guarantee that his agent has begged him NOT to play basketball or do anything else that is even remotely risky until a contract extension is signed. The amount of money at risk is frightening to those who are paid to worry about things like this.

[sarcasm] First he balks at contract negotiations cause he's so greedy. Then he's forcing kids to pay him $49 to sign stuff. Now he disrespects our country by backing out of the team USA practices. You bastard!!! [/sarcasm]

Seriously, I don't want any of our guys playing for team USA. I'd much rather they use the off season to rest up and work on their game in controlled practice situations. Four years from now when they've got a better sense of themselves, I'd be all for it. But right now I want them to be all about the Blazers.

    +1

It was mentioned on either Wheels or Crapzano's show as well when he announced it. Wanting more rest is the exact reason given.

Good. This is what I wanted him to do.

LbJ, Kome, Wade, and Howard were all anomalies this year. Not many players can withstand 82+ 15+ games in an NBA season AND Olympics competition.

Roy wants a player option to hold the Olympics every 5 years instead of 4.

Me more rational?!? Cool?!?! Are you sure you know who you're talking to?

Yes, I'm going to the M&G. Any word on when it's happening? Should we even be talking about it here? I can see 200 Canzano fans showing up trying to give KP their underwear.
