this Blazers edge report has a couple interesting items http://www.blazersedge.com/, first apparrently the Blazers are planning on using Pendergraph as a center (in the regular season), at least when really big opposing centers aren't in there. Also, this quote from Chad Buchanan :"He's going to be a really good guy off our bench. He has a great attitude, he's constantly showing positive energy and that's a value for us. Teams in our league, good teams in our league have benches in our league that are into the game. I thought at times last year we didn't have that. We need that. Especially on the road, you need to see your bench over there when you're on the floor. I think Jeff has an amazing personality, he'll be ready to play when he gets the opportunity." so, he is saying our bench last year wasn't into the game much. Who is he talking about; my first thoughts would be Frye and Sergio, I thought I remember shots of Bayless a couple times standing up and shouting, can't recall about Outlaw and Rudy..
Fixed that quote I don't remember seeing LA or Orlando jumping up and down constantly. Bayless was the only guy however that I remember seeing it from on Portland. Unless of course there was a spectacular play.
Oden was the worst, IMO. He couldn't be troubled to stand up off the bench when his teammates were playing well.
Was/is third string center and/or cheerleading from the bench any kind of priority coming into the offseason? Ed O.
well, I guess it as difficult for bloggers as it is for normal fans to find something to get excited about this off season.
I guess they needed to fill the Shavlik/Raef/Ruffin role with somebody, might as well be a low cost second round player with at least a bit of upside instead of a veteran's minimum guy ... but, yeah point taken.
That's possibly the most damning bit of "praise" I've ever read. Absolutely nothing about being good at playing basketball, everything is about "positive energy" and "great attitude." Wow. He couldn't have been nastier had he intended it, really.
