A couple of weeks ago, I got verbally mauled for saying the Blazers should consider this. I am glad some other folks are starting to see the light. Trading a back-up SG (who is showing signs of becoming a headcase) for a starting PG is just good sense. If the trade helps both teams - tough shit. Our first priority should be to improve OUR team, not make trades only if they hurt the other team.
Maybe the plan all along was Minny to draft Flynn for us, so they can have Rudy to lure Rubio into coming to Minny. I would absolutely love a Flynn, Roy back court.
So... why would MN trade their PG because their OTHER PG won't come to the NBA this year? And trade their PG without getting one back? That makes no sense, dude. Ed O.
The T-Wolves are keeping Jonny Flynn. You can take that to the bank. They would turn down flat a Rudy-for-Flynn trade. Rubio is their tradeable asset. The question is, when do they trade him? Kahn says he's not going to trade him without getting a look at him in the NBA. But that's risky - if he doesn't look so good, his value tanks. But some team will offer something really nice sooner or later... (Incidentally, I REALLY don't see the Blazers targeting Rubio as long as we have BOTH Roy and Nate, and possibly as long as we have either. More's the pity.)
