I think Stern is a power hungry, controling guy. He has made some rules under his regime that have been stupid. This upcoming tights rule being one of them. I do like the expansion of the D-League however.

How is banning tights worth not liking him over? The NFL is 10 times more strict on the uniform and extra's and nobody seems to care.

I think he's doing a great job. He intended to get the league a better image with the dress code, and accomplished it to some degree. I also think he has done a decent job putting penalties of technical fouls. I think Stern is the 2nd best comminisioner in sports behind Tagliabou

I believe he is the best commissioner in professional sports, with Tagliabue right behind him. A lot of the people here who believe he is ruining the league or what not really need to go and look at everything he has done in his tenure. It's crazy that you guys are hating on him for things that don't even effect the game of basketball!Oh no! Players aren't allowed to wear tights anymore! The NBA is going to go down in flames becasue of it!Oh no! Players actually have to dress like adults! What a travesty!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>He's on a freaking power trip. I mean, who bans tights?</div>He's just enforcing his dress code. Banning tights is not even a big issue, so I don't see how he's on a power trip. Only a couple players did it anyways.

Other than the dress code stuff, he's an extremely good commissioner. But I still put Tagliabue in front, because he's done so much to his league. I saw some 1 minute thing on him on TheScore... proboaly that's why.

The banning of the tights is a mystery to me, but it isn't as big of a deal as some of you are making it out to be. That is the only negative thing that I can think of him doing recently. The dress code, as much as I hated it at first, was a very good thing for the league.

I guess David is trying to demote the League's hip hop image by banning all these things. I mean, come on. I can see where he is coming from but I mean, tights!?? That isn't trying to act gangster, they are to keep your legs warm and fluid. I can actually see what's next. Next, David is going to ban headbands bc he thinks that players' wear them to show that they are gangster. He isnt doing a good job on all this dress code <Censored> but other than that he is fine.

I think he is doing a pretty good job especially when you compare him to other comminisioners in sports. The D-League was a great idea, that I think could really help improve teams because the younger players can get a lot playing time. A lot of players and people were upset about the player dress code but I think it was a good idea, its not like a majority of these don't make a couple million dollars a season and can't afford a collared shirt and a nice pair of pants. I think the tights wasn't necessary, beause they are used to stay warm during the game and injury free, although you can wear them if its for an injury. Its almost surprising he hasn't said he is going to ban the arm sleeves if he is banning tights.
