<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Quote: It was James' ninth straight game with at least 35 points - the third-longest streak in the NBA since 1970. Only Michael Jordan, with 10 straight in 1986, and Kobe Bryant, with 13 in a row in 2003, have posted better runs in that span. - NBA.com James came into the league expected to be a triple-double machine. Yet I'm thinking his most likely path to legend-status is to be a scoring machine. At such a young age, his numbers could be Wilt-like if he continues to add to his offensive arsenal. He certainly has a huge shot at Jordan's 30ppg career scoring average.</div> I'm one of those that laugh when it's suggested that he will average a triple double. What do you think his averages will be?
It depends what his role will be in the future. I mean, his supporting cast. This year, Larry Hughes was injured and guys like Damon Jones and Donyell have been dissapointments so Lebron really had to take on the scoring load. But in the future if he has a top tier supporiting cast he could start to use his passing skills more and become a triple double machine. He still is a triple double machine, just now with 35 ppg.
I think over his career hes going to average 30 plus a game and 6 rebounds and 7 assists.Hes awesome.
Do you think Lebron will be a Cav for his whole career? I hope not. I'd like to see him go somewhere where he wouldn't have to worry about the presure of being the main guy. I know he's a hell of a player and will indeed be one of the 100 greatest players in NBA history but imo I think he would be a much better player if he had some only just as talented as he is helping him out. For Example the Lakers or maybe even Minnasota if KG decides to stay. Hell maybe even Denver. Melo and Bron running things like they did in the 2005 rookie game. I know you'd love to see that Balloholic lol.
I think its more like 30, 7 and 6. I might get beaten up for this but I think he will average better numbers then Jordan. That doesn't mean he will be as good as Jordan in the playoffs or even win 1 championship but damn, this kid is great.
I think he will be one of the top 15 or 10 players to play the game. 37/8/8 in his prime depending on his teammates.

Great thread BCB. I also look forward to the future of DWade, Carmelo, and Chris Bosh. Bosh will eventually be a 25/11 player. DWade will be a 30/8/8 playerLeBron will eventually be a 34/9/8 playerThose numbers abvoce, scarily enough, are minimuns
I'd love to disagree, but considering over the first 3 yyears of career he still hasn't developed a three point jumper, I think it'll take Shaq retiring to get him to shoot from the outside mroe
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (PureMvp @ Apr 9 2006, 05:39 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>D Wade, will still not have a jumpshot.. because he is going to depend on shaq and just drive.</div>He'll develop a jumper. You can't say he never will. And Shaq's time is running out, soon it will be Wade's Heat.As for LeBron, he wont average a triple double or anything like that, because the Cavs are going to be too dependant on his scoring (unless they land a guy like KG or something), I mean they already are dependant on his scoring.
Ya, with how the game is played these days it'll be hard seeing LeBron get a triple double on average. If he does however, I'll kill myself
Let's keep this on LeBrawn please. I don't want this turning into a LBJ vs. Wade thing. If it does i'm deleting posts.
Im not gonna lie, I was skeptical about LeBron and all the hype when he came in, but I am amazed by his ability as a basketball player. His weakness coming in was defense and his shot, and clearly he has improved both increasing his FG% up to 48% en route to becoming a complete player. The man is only 21 years old and he obviously has a very bright future ahead of him...Watch out, this kid is going to shatter some records..
I agree with CB4. I truly think with his potential, and his maturity at this high level already, he will be an elite top 3 player that has ever played the game. And I think he will be better than Jordan.
I dont think you can compare him to Jordan. I think he is a completely different kind of player. I think of Wade as moreso like Jordan and LeBron more similar to Magic. I think both have extremelly bright futures and it shows that the league is in good hands, however, I dont think its fair to compare them to these legends of the game. They will be great, but I think they will be great in their own way. Its tough to say he will be beter than Jordan, I think he will be a magnificent player for many years to come, but I dont know if you can compare the two or say one will be better than the other..Ahh BCB is gonna murder my post lol..I definatly included Wade in there..
