Hey Jerry, If you don't want him to be our best player, go out and get someone better so he's our 2nd best player.
Well he thinks that Gasol is only the third best player on the Lakers. So maybe we could trade for Bynum, or sign Odom, or Derek Fisher, or whoever the hell he thinks the second best player on the Lakers is.
Give it a rest already. Gasol is a #2 option, always has been. They lost 60 games with him during his best, or one of his best at least, statistical seasons. The Bulls always won titles with supporting casts that had more talent. God you are such a hater, seriously.
I'm no hater. I like Gasol. Seems like two years ago, he played kinda soft and the Lakers got their lunch handed to them. This past playoffs, he was a rock and the team won.
He's made one All-NBA team. Playing next to Kobe of course. He played better, he was again a #2 option.
You've got to be a complete fucking idiot to think Gasol is the Lakers best player. Seriously, like fucking retarded. I know you're not Denny, so stop trying to get on our nerves.
You are a hater, you troll saying stuff like Bryant can't win without LO. When of course, the Bulls had one of the best supporting casts during all their titles.
He was an all-star with Memphis. Sure had a lot of ~50 win teams in the western conference without a 2nd option even as good as Lamar Odom.
All-NBA is tougher to make. Mike Miller, Jones, Posey, aren't at LO's level? Posey actually had a career season in Memphis putting him easily at LO's level. Odom tried to score more in Miami and could not carry the load like real All-Stars either. Pau's not durable or big enough of a star to get all that credit. Jordan had 50 win seasons by himself? He didn't do anything before Scot. Scot's won more than Jordan and Pau by himself. No Pau didn't have a lot of 50 win seasons, and when Battier left his team collapsed like pathetic trash. Couldn't even get 25 wins, lost 60 games with a better cast than LA. Actually in Memphis he was an even less efficient scorer than in LA, lower than Kobe at a lower volume, a mediocre rebounder with No D. And how the fuck does that make him even at Pippen's level? Lol whatever, his team was a lot deeper and better defensively around the perimeter. Mike Miller, Eddie Jones, Battier.
Kobe's already won with less talent than Jordan. Oh and the only season Memphis won 50 games, was one season with Posey/Miller/Williams/Wells/Battier which is a much better cast than LO and no one especially defensively. And Pau played less than 32 minutes a game that year. Can't do anything in the playoffs, not a first option and Kobe killed it in the playoffs. He was in a slump in last year's post-season run, and not close to Bryant's level and they still got to the Finals without his contributions. Check your facts dude.
Pau was certainly not our best player. Most consistent? I'll give him that. It's tough to find a "bad" game in his game log. But Kobe is hands down our best player. Hell, he's the best player on the damn planet, so how the hell is he NOT our best player? Pau has had ONE 50 win season. One. Uno. And that was back in the 03-04 season. They also won 45 and 49 games in the seasons after that, but not once did they win a playoff series or even a single playoff game. And a lot of those teams he was on was incredibly talented - Posey, Miller, Bonzi, Jason Williams, Battier - yet they still never won a playoff game with Pau as their leader and missed the playoffs entirely a couple times. And as mentioned by HK, Pau wasn't as efficient and he wasn't as good of a defender. His rebounding numbers have also gone up since not having to be relied on as heavily. Pau is not set to be the main man on a team. He's best suited as a second option. Would he have been the answer for Chicago? Maybe, but as long as they didn't ask him to be the top guy.
Since when is Lamar Odom even that good? The guy is a 9 year veteran still lacking consistency. And how can anyone say Gasol is the Lakers best player? Kobe is regarded as the best player in the world for a reason.
The majority of the world are idiots, like Franklin. Don't be mad that me and Denny know the truth, while the rest of you homers keep sucking Kobe's dick. smh
This makes me mad. Bulls could have had a championship team easily, in four steps. 1. Gasol trade. 2. Re-sign Gordon and Deng and Duhon. 3. Trade Ben Wallace for Shaq O'neal 4. Go out and sign Ron Artest for the full MLE. 5. Salary dump Nocioni somewhere along the way. Then you could have something like: PG-Kirk Hinrich/Chris Duhon SG-Ben Gordon/Ron Artest SF-Ron Artest /Luol Deng PF-Pau Gasol/Joakim Noah C- Shaquille O'neal/Joakim Noah Anyone disagree that that team could win a championship? Not that they necessarily would, but they definitely have the talent and pieces to win one with that roster. Ron Artest would be the ideal fit because of his ability to slide down to shooting guard, but it could have been anyone, from Lamar Odom, to Shawn Marion, to Trevor Ariza to fill in the gap. I don't blame Paxson, because I know that he would have traded for Gasol and re-signed Gordon if he was allowed to. But the owner is cheap. He said Gasol would be the last piece. Why the hell would Gasol have to be the last piece? If you trade Ben Wallace's expiring for Shaq like Cleveland, and then get a good player with your MLE, then you could easily add two more major pieces after Gasol, and build a championship team.
