He is already really strong but he has very poor footwork. It is easier to get strong than it is to gain speed and balance. If I am proven wrong than I will congratulate him but I don't have high hopes on him doing much in the nba.</div>I hope you realize he's only 21?? he still has plenty of time to develop. Look how long it's taken Diop to develop and he hasnt even reached his ceiling. I think Podkolzin will be similar to Diop, maybe not playing styles, but similar in how long it takes for them to develop. Plus the Mavericks had to of seen some talent in him otherwise they wouldnt of drafted him. The Mavericks orginazation does a superb job on scouting as we all know.
Well they can't be right on everything. It's not always a hit on every pick but they've done a good job. I just think since Pavel is slow that it will be hard for him to be effective in the post. Yao Ming and Shaq both have quickness. Something Pavel doesn't have. Pavel at best could be an Ilgauskas type player.
And you've seen enough of Pavel to know this? Seriously give him time, he's a low risk, high reward pick.
