....if Martell will make a relative full recovery before pulling the trigger on any deals involving Travis. Unless there is another 3 coming back, I sure know that's what I would want to know.

BTW, has anyone heard any health updates on Martell? Is he running and playing basketball?

I would say if TrOut gets traded AND Webster can't play, we could throw in Cunningham at the 3 spot.

Hell you could put Haarlow at the 3 and it would be an upgrade over Travis.

That is nuts. With Roy very good at SF, and Batum the starter, Outlaw is definitely expendable.

Methinks it is more likely that KP is waiting to see what the best offer for Sessions is (while convincing Sessions' agent to not sign anything yet) - then he can come in with a slightly better one.

I think Travis gets a bum rap around here. Sure he is a bit of a one-note player, but he's pretty darn good at that one note, and he even developed a killer instinct.

Travis was only really effective at the 4 spot last year. At least that is what the coaches thought.

I don't think they are planning on Travis being the backup three. They are planning on having him play powerless forward.

    Bingo.

For all the blind hatred of Trout, he is a perfectly adequate bench player. Play Roy at the 3? Against many teams, he would get so beaten up on defense that he would have no legs left on offense by the 4th quarter. Cunningham? Please....being an undersized 4 in college does NOT make you an NBA 3.

The problem is not Outlaw. The problem is that Nate was forced to play Outlaw too many minutes and in too many clutch situations. The first problem is easy to solve - give Batum a longer leash. The second problem is still a headache. We either need another (better) player who can create his own shot, or a PG who actually sets up his team-mates.

I think I heard on The Game today that Webster was cleared to play in full contact scrimmages.

Maybe KP is really the most interesting man in the world in disguise, and is just screwing around so he can experience failure.

    Very concerning.

I have some real doubts he can ever fully recover and play with those screws in his foot. So I agree with ABM. If Martel can not fully recover, we are now in need of a SF first (debatable), PG second and vet PF reserve third. So maybe it is better to wait and see and go from there.

Cool. I would love to see Webster make a comeback preferably with some LL Cool J in the background...

Actually, as it stands currently, I think we are in need of a PG first, and a toss-up between a backup PF and SF second.

He's pretty darn good at it sometimes, but when he isn't he absolutely plays the team out of games. A lot of his "clutchness" in the 4th comes after playing horribly for 3 quarters. I'd rather have a player that could be a bit more consistent. With Roy and LMA, I don't think you really NEED Travis for his "clutchness" in the 4th.

While they share no similarities at all in their style of play, Travis has always been far more valuable than Martell.

I don't see Martell having any effect on TO's PT or his value to the team.

His skill set easily eclipses Marty's 3pt-only game.
