Miller & Blake give us a very solid veteran PG situation.

So, is this step one with another trade to come to balance out the roster?

You can use stats to compare if you want, but Miller was in a running system last year, and Blake was not. Running teams always have worse defensive efforts statistically.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

i see it as kind of a lateral move overall, but at least he will compliment rudy much better than blake does. maybe that's the point.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

I think there could be a trade now. I can see a trade of Blake or Bayless plus something maybe Outlaw for a better backup PF or even a SF. I rather have a better backup PF.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

If it is 14 mil for two years and a team option for a 3rd this is a fantastic signing. It gives us two years to let Bayless develop and if he doesn't it gives us a third year to find someone else.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

The only problem is this still leaves Rudy without minutes.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

Except for the fact that Blake is still on the team, and Rudy is a backup, and you know that Nate will play Blake over Bayless. My guess is that the team doesn't make a trade, and we run the whole year with players unhappy with playing time. Then Bayless leaves unhappy with playing time and blooms somewhere else. That is the most likely scenario.

If the first year is $7 mil, we have about 0.7mil left.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

Your own link says NOTHING about it being a one-year deal.

It quotes the agent saying the Blazers offer is an improvement over the 1 yr $6mil offer of the 76ers.

Hell yeah it does. We just went from being average at the position to be well-above average!

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

Not if Bayless doesnt get any minutes.. If we stood at a 9 man rotation of Miller, Blake, Roy, Rudy, Batum, Outlaw, LMA, Oden, Przybilla. There will be some minutes to spread around.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

I love the third-year team option. This team also doesn't need any more shooters. We need guys who can penetrate, and create for others outside of Brandon. I think this is fantastic.

We'll see how it works, but I like this signing.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

Well, I would predict that Bayless is either on his way out or will sit on the bench, again. I also prefer opening up more time for Rudy, so I would still be in favor of moving Blake if the right deal presents itself.

    Re: BREAKING NEWS

Except that Rudy wants a bigger role (minutes) and you have Webster (potentially). You are right that they don't have to move someone, but Rudy, Bayless and Webster (and Blake?) may be unhappy with their minutes if someone isn't moved.
