Dana White is supposedly working on a move that could bring a live UFC event to prime time. The UFC has tapped ESPN, sports partners with ABC, to bring a show to network television.

Dana White insists that a network deal isn't a necessity (something about SpikeTV being in 90-million homes) but the exposure the UFC would get out of it--in their quest to be a mainstream sport--would be great. EliteXC's shows drew the highest ratings for MMA ever when they were aired on CBS.

As long as the UFC can produce it themselves and keep the same broadcasting team then it would be a good idea. If the network wants their own people to handle it, then the UFC shouldn't do it.

Spike has the cable rights but there can also be network programming. They can coexist.
