I speak the truth. I was being forced to be negative because this is the first thing KP has gotten right all year. He still has got to get roy and lma signed ASAP. But I have no problem pointing out when he does something good. Now get it done.
It's July 24th. You were forced to be negative because you didn't have the patience to wait 3 weeks for a free-agent signing. barfo
good job? i guess i shouldn't be surprised. the blazers finally panicked and made a bad move just to get something done, so i guess i should expect a "good job" coming from you.
upgrading the PG spot is a panic and bad move? pray tel... I suppose the Rockets getting a decent Center would be panicking too?
because andre miller is a vastly overrated player who doesn't really fit on the team. he's an "upgrade" on paper, but i don't expect his game to be an actual upgrade on the court.
Because he isn't a stud 3-point shooter. You know, the way Tom Brady is over-rated as a QB because he can't kick 50 yard FGs.
how will the Blazers ever spread the court with only Roy Rudy Batum Outlaw Martell shooting 3's and LA with his sweet J? Awwwwww freak out! STOMP
on the basis that he's rated higher than he should be. andre miller can't shoot, is not a good defender(and isn't an improvement in that area over blake), needs the ball in his hands to be effective(while the blazers would prefer the ball to be in roy's hands), is most effective in an uptempo game(which the blazers don't play), doesn't really have more playoff experience than anyone else on the team despite his age(not really important but that's why people wanted a "veteran"), hasn't really won anywhere he's played, has almost no experience playing with good big men and getting the ball inside(one year with brand on the clippers), etc. i could keep going but i think you get the point. he's a paper "upgrade" that really doesn't make much actual sense on the team.
The "Miller can't shoot" claim is pure hogwash. For his career, he has averaged 46% from the field (comparable to Roy, and much better than Blake), has a career average of 14.6 PPG, and is an 80% FT shooter (he also gets to the line far more frequently than Blake.) He isn't a good 3-point shooter....but since when did that become the only standard for judging a player's offense? The "more effective in an uptempo game" claim has also been discussed. Philly's pace factor was a bit higher than Portland's, but still in the bottom third of the league. The "hasn't won" nonsense has also been discussed to death. *Teams* win, not individuals. The claim that all players on weak teams are crap is pure BS. If Miller is such a loser you might explain how he helped turn a 17 win Denver team into one that won 43, 44, and 49 games during his 3 full seasons there. The Cavs also added 10 wins his rookie year. There is also the small fact that Philly doesn't sniff the play-off without him. But yeh, he is a real loser! "Paper upgrade"? He is just as big an upgrade over Blake as Hedo would have been over Outlaw...and he won't cost the team 5 years/$50 million.
