You can't argue with the numbers dude. You are the one underrating James.James: .440 3 pt percentage, 159 3's madeKorver: .428 3 pt percentage, 169 3's madeKorver has made more 3's but that doesn't mean he is better. He gets lots of open looks from AI double teams'. Mike James has to shoot 3's off the dribble and he still has a higher percentage then Korver. But then again, knowing you, you would think that Mike's stats don't count because he's in his contract year
Korver does not get open as much as you'd think. He's in every scouting report as a killer 3-point shooter, people don't sag off of him as much. James gets as many looks coming off screens, and Bosh also takes on his share of dobule teams as well.OMG! ONE measley percent better. You can't use stats to prove your argument when they are this close.
I didn't use stats to prove my argument. I said that James has to create off the dribble and he doesn't have that catch and shoot option. Thats' why his percentage is much more impressive. When he gets hot, he can drain it with 2 or 3 people on him.
No. I think it is more actually defending him from haters and people who severely underrate him. Seriously, not putting him on this list is rediculous. He is a top 5 three point shooter in the League. Probably even top 3.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nba dogmatist @ Apr 10 2006, 11:57 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>yeah, just wait until next year comes around, and he has his money..</div>Oh yeah, so his shooting is going to decline when he gets more money? Could you layoff that please.
Im not denying the fact that he is a good shooter, but he is not an elite shooter. Were not "hating" him, you clearly have a clouded perspective of how good this guy is..I know hes a solid player, but hes not a star like you make him out to be..Hes a player who can hit threes when hes hot, theres alot of players in the league like that, but to call him an elite shooter is rediculous..
No its not. The stats prove it. I watch him during games. He is an elite 3 ball shooter. You may not like it because he's on the Raptors but face the facts. Atleast this season he has been an elite shooter.

Atleast this season he has been an elite shooter.</div>It has nothing to do with him being on the Raptors..Bosh is on the raptors and I think he is a terrific player, one of the great post players of the next decade. Its got nothing to do with the Raptors. The fact is he would not be putting up those minutes if he were playing for a winning team where he didnt have such an increased role. This is not what a team should expect out of him if they sign him in free agency. A winning, established team will not see these kinds of numbers out of him because they will not be avaible to him. He is a very good player, I would love to have him on my team, however, he is not the type of player that the numbers reflect.
omg, how can you consider him elite? you think we hate him bc he's on the Raptors? grow up. We don't even hate him. Just bc we don't consider him "elite" does ot mean we hate him.
..But he is still a great 3 pt shooter. We are talking about this year. But I do see where you are coming from..
I dont think you can call him an elite three point shooter. He is a guy that if he gets hot he can be very dangerous from long range, not denying that. However, there are alot of guys in this league capable of doing that, that does not make the individual elite. Ray Allen is elite, dont tell me you think that Mike James is at that level in terms of his three point shooting ability..
Peja, Pierce, Raja Bell, Billups, Kobe, Ray Allen, Dirk, Korver, Redd, Bowen are just a couple guys off the top of my head that I can think of that are better than James from long distance in my opinion..
Stats dont always tell the whole story..Look at the Mike James free agency debate..His numbers are terrific, yeah, but do they make him a star player? I think if you had a poll asking people if they though Mike James was an elite three point shooter they would disagree because he isnt in that upper echelon of three point specialists..<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Diesel @ Apr 10 2006, 11:45 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>C-Raef LafrentzF- Matt BonerF- Kyle KorverG- Wally SzierbiakG- Mike James</div>I forgot Bonner, good call. I would put him ahead of Cliffy even though he is a capable three point shooter in his own right..
I dont know about Matt. He is inconsistant at times. Sometimes he goes 0-5 and sometimes he looks good but...?Edit: I guess there is not much else at PF so I guess it was a good pick.
you can put dirk ahead of him. I'm not looking at the stats right now, but i can give you a list of better 3-point threats than James:-Rashard Lewis-Gilbert Arenas-Raja Bell-Chauncey Billups-Jason Richardson-Mike Bibby-Kobe Bryant-Wally Szczerbiak-Morris Peterson-Jason Terry-Kyle Korver-Ray Allen-Dirk Nowitzki-Michael Redd-Peja Stojakovic-Ben Gordon-I could name more if you'd like..
Same situation with Cliffy, he is either on fire or sh ooting bricks..I just remember Bonner going off one game and hitting a bunch of threes..<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (nba dogmatist @ Apr 10 2006, 11:48 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>you can put dirk ahead of him.
