    Portland / Memphis Trade

Portland Trades: Bayless, Blake, Outlaw, Future Draft Picks

    Portland Receives: Conley, Warrick

The Lineup would look like this

    PG: Miller / Conley
    SG: Roy / Fernandez
    SF: Batum / Webster
    PF: Aldridge / Warrick
    C: Oden / Pryzbilla
    (Pendergraph, Cunningham)

This would definitely clear up the log jam at PG and SF and give the Blazers 2 solid players at each position.

    What do you guys think?

They might go for it, but only because Blake and Outlaw are on expiring contracts and would represent an additional 7.6 million in salary savings next year. From a talent for talent perspective it seems "kind of" balanced, but I don't think Memphis is any hurry to dump a young, improving point guard playing on a rookie scale deal -- Think about Memphis' primary goals: 1) they are cost averse and look to save money where ever they can, 2) you can't do any better than cheap (and good) rookie scale players when it comes to saving money.

My guess is that Memphis would demand that we take on a deadweight contract like Jaric instead of Warrick in your above proposed deal and at that point I'm less excited about trading all of that for just Conley.

As for the trade, it would have been nice to get Conley a couple weeks ago, but why would you bring in a guy who wants, and deserves 25-35 mpg and is emerging as a good young PG? He's not going to want to play 10-15 mpg behind Miller. Factor in the potential of Roy or Rudy playing a little PG as well, and it just doesn't make much sense to me.

So Blake, Conley and Bayless and picks for Conley is way too much for a back up pg. Warrick wasn't offered a contract so if we had money wecould get him without giving anything up.
