In a stunning upset over powerhouse Belgium (if by stunning upset you mean easy victory), Nicolas Batum led France to an easy win in their 2nd warmup games for Euro 2009 qualification. His full line: 7/9 FG, 3/4 three pointers, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals in 26 minutes. The final score was 82-44, so the stats are fairly meaningless, but at least he's playing well. boxscore here.

In France's first warmup game, Batum score 8 points (3/9) in a win over Austria.

Good to hear. France has a few NBA players and it says something about Batum that he can lead the team, even if it's a blowout.

I can't wait to see the sophomores play next season!

Tony Parker isn't playing for the team? Does he play for France in the Olympics?

Good for Nic, high level competition is really going to help him this summer (along with Rudy).

Florent Pietrus was better.

Drop Batum, sign Pietrus.

Are these games being broadcast on TV?

This offseason keeps getting better and better. The experience oden and bat are gettin is going show up big time.

Look at those assist numbers! Are we developing a point forward here? Who the hell needs Turkeyglue. Those are starting to look like Pippin numbers.

I'll never understand why KP had his eye on Turkoglu. Nic, Martell, and Travis are an excellent group to have at SF.

I would think cause Outlaw and Webster and Blake could have net us a better PG than just Blake alone.

he got "injured" in the first game against Austria, probably just a tweaked ankle but there's no point in him playing in warmup games.

What's the French team look like as a whole as far as NBAers?

Tony Parker, Nicolas Batum, Boris Diaw, Mikael Pietrus, and Joakim Noah is what I have down right now. Any other NBAers I missed? Gelebale maybe? They have a pretty good team. Probably will be the team to qualify.

Hopefully ESPN360 has the European Championship streaming online. It will be fun to watch.

The amount of NBA talent playing for teams in the European Championship will be exciting. Just off the top of my head, you have Chris Kaman and Dirk Nowitzki for Germany, Andrei Kirileinko, Sergey Monya, and Viktor Khryapa for Russia, Ben Gordon, Pops Mensah Bonsu and maybe Kelenna Azuibuke and Luol Deng for Great Britain, Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Marc Gasol, and Jose Calderon for Spain. Tony Parker, Joakim Noah, Nicolas Batum, Mikael Pietrus, and Boris Diaw for France if they qualify. Andris Biedrins for Latvia.

Lots of good talent there.

Ronny Turiaf, Johan Petro, and newly drafted (Spurs) Nando de Colo.

I had the same question HCP and don't see an answer. Help anyone?

This was a three game warmup tournament, so no TV or streams. I'm sure there will be streams once France starts their qualifiers (August 5th against Italy) and definitely for the actual Eurobasket tournament.
batum doesn't start? :[
he starts.

Keep in mind that, thanks to the Bulls, Noah's participation with the French team is finished.

I think Mikael Pietrus isn't on the team (and hasn't been for some years or maybe forever), only his older brother Florent.

Boxscore: I like how it shows not just the fouls committed, but the fouls drawn (Batum 5, Noah 6) and not just the blocks, but the shots of yours that get blocked.
