Wow. New Orleans is trying to shake Chandler like a bad habit.

Somehow I just can't see CP3 lobbing it to Okafor with as much success as he did to Chandler.

Wonder how long Paul will stand the Hornets becoming the LA Clippers of the Bayou before he starts demanding a trade?

I think that's a good deal for NO. Hope it doesn't happen. Would prefer seeing Chandler there when we face them, instead of Okafor.

Wow to me, that is a terrible trade! Unless CHA is just trying to get rid of Emekas gargantuan contract. Chandler is on the last year of his contract.

I think Emeka is a lot better then Tyson.

Yeah, I'd rather have Okafor than Chandler. He's a stronger and better defender, similarly excellent rebounder and less inept on offense (though not a good offensive player).

Huh? Chandler's two career seasons (thanks to Paul) were the same as the career norm for Okafor. Okafor is about the same age and has been healthy the last 2 seasons. He also didn't have the benefit of playing next to Paul. Playing with CP3 would pretty much guarantee a career year for him.

On another note, does this mean the Bobcats are willing to blow it up (trying to get out from Okafor's deal)? Maybe Diaw or Crash could become available, too?

I've always felt Chandler was one of the more overrated players in the league. CP3 made him look so much better than he actually is.

The same goes with David West, he made both of those guys. There's a reason why they collapsed when CP was injured.

No doubt Emeka is the better player, but I'm pretty surprised that New Orleans is actually looking to taking on an expensive, long-term contract... The exact opposite of what I thought they'd be doing.

Don't really understand this deal from anyone's perspective. Everything I've read says the Hornets are in deep financial trouble, so you'd think they want to not commit to Okafor's long-term deal.

And I don't really see what Chandler brings to the Bobcats that Okafor doesn't, except an expiring contract. Maybe they just want to save money since the owner is reportedly trying to sell the team?

As players, they're about the same age and basically similar, although Okafor is very strong and seems to have put his injury issues behind him. He's also a bit more of a threat offensively.

So I guess if the Hornets really want to win and don't care about the cash, Emeka's not a bad trade for them.

I hope the Blazers can get in the mix and make a play for Gerald Wallace.

Because if the Bobcats are trading one player, they must be trading all of them?

All "minutes issues" aside, LMA/Okafor/Oden is about as studly a big-man rotation as you'd see anymore. Three quick, smart players...great D and awesome rebounding.

Miller/Roy/Rudy at the guard rotation, Batum/Webs at the 3, LMA/Oden/Okafor at the bigs? Everyone else can be sent out, and we can bring back Okafor and around 4-8M of trash contracts (maybe Diaw as a 3/4?) Gives CHA lots of young players and expiring contracts. But I don't think we're getting in on this deal.

So AP reports that this is really happening and could get done today... wow. The West is loading up again.

I like Chandler at center better than Okafor. Not sure how a frontcourt of West and Okafor will work. I guess it will be better than West and nobody if they expect Chandler to get hurt again. As for Charlotte, they are either dumping salary in preparation for selling the team or they are taking a chance that Chandler will be healthy and will be able to get the same lobs from Felton or Augustin that he got from Paul.

The didn't win with Okafor. I think they're doing him a favor by letting him go to a team where he won't be such a key guy.
